JPMorganChase is the largest bank in the United States by assets and one of the most systemically important financial institutions in the world, with a lineage running back through more than a thousand predecessor firms to the 1799 founding of the Bank of the Manhattan Company. It combines a dominant investment bank and markets business with Chase, the largest retail banking franchise in America, plus commercial banking and asset and wealth management. Headquartered in New York, the group is unusual among banks for the scale of its technology spending, running one of the largest engineering organisations of any financial institution and deploying its own internal AI platform across the firm.

Build real-world payment experiences by helping merchants and integrators connect to reliable card processing services. You’ll guide technical decisions, lead testing, and translate complex requirements into working solutions. If you enjoy solving problems with clients and delivering projects with measurable impact, this role offers variety and visibility. Implementation timelines can range from about 45 days to 6+ months, depending on scope and readiness.

As a Technical Implementation Manager in merchant services technology, you will lead client and partner integrations by providing technical consultation, coordinating end-to-end testing, and driving implementation milestones from kickoff through conversion. You’ll collaborate closely with clients to understand business requirements, troubleshoot issues, and help enable high-quality payment transaction processing.

Job responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for client implementations for mid-sized merchants and third-party integrators.
  • Advise clients on supported connectivity options, communication protocols, transaction formats, and product functionality.
  • Lead integration testing to confirm implementations meet product, connectivity, industry, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze data transmitted to test environments or self-testing tools and communicate results, findings, and next steps to clients.
  • Diagnose issues and coordinate fixes with clients in a timely and professional manner, including technical conference calls as needed.
  • Manage technical conversions for new and existing clients from their current processing environment to firm-supported platforms.
  • Mentor analysts and support knowledge-sharing across team members working on integration projects.
  • Partner with sales consultants and subject matter experts during calls requiring advanced technical consultation.
  • Support complex integrations that may include EMV (chip card) certification activities with card brands.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 5 years of experience in a technical role (for example: networking, technical support, quality assurance, sales engineering, or business analysis), including 3 years in card payment processing.
  • 2 years of experience diagnosing complex issues across applications, data messages, and network connectivity.
  • 1 year of experience with connectivity and protocols such as multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), virtual private networks (VPN), internet and cloud connectivity, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), and Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS).
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply technical product specifications (transaction and file-based).
  • Working knowledge of standard operating procedures and quality control practices, with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to anticipate risks and identify potential issues early.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively with low-to-moderate supervision and handle escalations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ownership mindset, with professional communication skills for client-facing interactions.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience supporting point-of-sale (POS) integrations and merchant payment workflows.
  • Experience supporting EMV (chip card) certification or similar card-brand testing activities.
  • Ability to identify, implement, govern, and scale AI/automation solutions that drive business outcomes.

Additional Information

  • Work Schedule: You must be willing to work during operating hours on the night shift aligned to North America business hours, with the understanding that your schedule may change based on business needs, including holidays and weekends.
  • You will be required to attend training onsite, regardless of your work location. Your schedule and work location will be established based on business needs (for example: working onsite, at your home office, or a combination of both).

All application requirements (including updated resume - please include specifics of your career) should be posted, submitted and completed in the Oracle tool.

In partnership, Hiring Managers and Recruiters will review applications to determine which candidates best meet the required skills and experience specified in the job description. While not every application will result in an interview, applications will be acknowledged.
