Let’s start with the role
We are looking for a Design System Designer to help evolve the foundations that power Kaizen Gaming’s product experiences across brands, markets and platforms.
Our Design System is more than a component library. It is the shared language between design and engineering that enables our teams to build coherent, accessible and high-quality experiences at scale.
You will work at the intersection of product design and engineering, creating and evolving the foundations, components, patterns and guidance used by teams across Kaizen Gaming.
You will combine strong product design craft with systems thinking: identifying patterns across complex product experiences, turning them into scalable solutions and helping teams use the system effectively without restricting innovation.
What you’ll be doing
- Design, evolve and maintain reusable components, patterns and foundations across web and native experiences.
- Contribute to our design token architecture, including semantic tokens, themes, responsive behaviour, states and platform-specific considerations.
- Partner closely with frontend engineers throughout the lifecycle of the system, from exploration and specification to implementation, quality assurance and release.
- Ensure alignment between design libraries and production components across Figma, engineering component libraries and documentation.
- Create guidance that helps teams understand not only how to use the system, but also why and when a pattern is the right choice.
- Champion accessibility, responsive behaviour and thoughtful interaction as fundamental qualities of the system.
- Contribute to the governance and contribution model of the Design System, helping teams propose, evaluate and evolve new patterns collaboratively.
- Explore new ways of working, including AI-assisted design and development, that can make our Design System easier to use, build with and evolve.
What You’ll Bring
- Solid Product Design experience, with meaningful hands-on involvement in building, evolving or contributing to a production Design System.
- Advanced Figma expertise, including components, properties, variables, auto layout, libraries and scalable component architecture.
- A deep understanding of design tokens and the relationship between design foundations, semantic decisions and implementation.
- Excellent visual and interaction design craft, with strong judgment around typography, spacing, hierarchy, responsive behaviour, states and interaction patterns.
- Experience designing for responsive web, native mobile or both.
- A solid understanding of accessibility principles and how they influence component behaviour, interaction and visual design.
- Confidence collaborating closely with frontend engineers and discussing implementation constraints, component behaviour and technical trade-offs.
- A systems-thinking mindset, with the ability to turn complex or inconsistent product needs into simple, coherent and reusable solutions.
- Experience creating clear and useful documentation for both designers and engineers.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Storybook or similar component development environments.
- Experience with multi-brand, multi-market or highly complex digital products.
- Exposure to Design System governance, contribution models or documentation practices.
- Experience using AI-assisted design, prototyping or development tools.
- An interest in sports, gaming or entertainment.
How we think about Design Systems
Our Design System is the shared foundation that helps teams turn ideas into coherent, accessible and high-quality product experiences. It brings design and engineering together through common foundations, components and patterns, giving teams a trusted starting point while leaving space to solve new problems and create experiences that fit their context.
We believe the best systems grow with the products and people using them. They simplify complexity, amplify good design decisions and make quality easier to achieve at scale. At Kaizen, that means continuously learning from our teams, evolving what we build together and finding new ways to raise the ceiling for the experiences we create.
