Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Backend-leaning)

We are looking for a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to help our customers integrate and customize our cutting-edge platform that combines cloud infrastructure, data intelligence, and artificial intelligence with their systems. You'll work in high-impact systems that process large volumes of data, integrate with leading AI technologies, and support mission-critical decision-making for enterprise customers. As part of a small, highly collaborative team, you'll have significant ownership over architecture, technical direction, and product outcomes. Key Responsibilities

- Work with our customers on the front line to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using TypeScript, Node.js, Express, Python, and FastAPI.

- Build and optimize backend systems, databases, and data processing workflows to support product and business needs.

- Develop and maintain integrations with AI platforms and Large Language Models (LLMs), including OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, and similar technologies.

- Collaborate closely with Customers, Product, Design, and Engineering teams to define technical solutions and deliver impactful features.

- Improve application performance, reliability, and scalability across a growing platform.

- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues while enhancing observability and monitoring capabilities.

- Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the technical direction of the platform.

- Build and maintain cloud-native solutions leveraging Google Cloud services

Core Requirements

- 8+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering, using TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.

- Strong experience building APIs and backend services using Python and FastAPI.

- Solid experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.

- Experience designing and maintaining scalable, production-grade distributed systems.

-Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and core data tools, alongside hands-on experience developing, testing, and deploying modular data models using DBT.

-Strong architectural foundation in data infrastructure, with a deep understanding of scalability, performance optimization, and system design trade-offs.

- Experience working in fast-paced, client-facing roles and a passion for working with customers

- Familiarity with serverless architectures and cloud-native services such asFunctions, Jobs, or equivalent technologies.

- Experience troubleshooting production systems and implementing observability best practices.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have

- Experience with DBT and modern data transformation workflows.

- Familiarity with Golang.

- Experience with Datadog or other observability and monitoring platforms.

- Exposure to frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, and TypeScript.

- Experience integrating and working with Large Language Models (LLMs) through SDKs and APIs.

- Experience building AI-powered products or features.

- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, data pipelines, and modern analytics ecosystems.

- Previous experience in early-stage or high-growth startup environment
