Senior React Native Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to help build a mobile trading app for Finamex, a financial services firm, on iOS and Android from a single React Native codebase. You’ll join a digital product agency’s team mid-engagement as a backfill, working within an established architecture, repo structure, and sprint cadence during a 16-week build. The role is frontend-focused and centers on secure API integration, real-time market data, and polished, performant UI in a regulated fintech environment. The ideal candidate brings deep TypeScript and React Native experience, has shipped apps on both app stores, and can get productive quickly on an existing codebase.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and ship features in the React Native app (frontend only) within the existing architecture and team conventions.
• Integrate with Finamex APIs, including OIDC/OAuth token handling, retry and backoff logic, pagination, caching, and clear display of data freshness.
• Implement real-time market-data views over WebSocket, SSE, or polling that stay responsive under frequent updates and handle errors and reconnects gracefully.
• Translate design specs into polished, performant UI that behaves consistently across iOS and Android.
• Take part in code reviews, QA against the agreed device/OS test matrix, and sprint ceremonies.

Core Requirements

• 4+ years of professional React Native experience with TypeScript, including apps shipped to both the App Store and Google Play.
• Experience with API client patterns and secure authentication flows (OIDC/OAuth, token refresh, secure storage) in mobile apps.
• Hands-on experience with real-time data and state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand, React Query).
• Strong performance profiling and debugging skills, with a focus on mobile responsiveness.
• Experience with mobile testing (Jest, Detox, or similar) and mobile CI/CD (EAS, Fastlane).
• Background in fintech, trading, or another regulated-product environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with multi-currency handling and number-formatting edge cases.
• Comfort working in Ionic/React codebases.
• A track record of joining in-flight projects and ramping up quickly.
