Quality Controller

Main responsibility 

Testing and inspection of overall process of production (receiving to packing) and recommend for improvement.

Duties

1. Testing of on process and finished product in every stage of the process and recommend improvement
2. 1. Check the quality of raw material used in receiving and formulation room and recommend improvement for senior laboratory analyst
   2. Check the storage of received raw material and packaging materials and recommend improvement also record on log book
   3. Check whether the ingredients weighed as per the recipe
   4. Check the mixing procedure and mixing time when dough mixed
   5. Check and record the status of returned dough and scrap used in mixing if any
   6. Check the thickness and weight of dough accordingly based on the product type recommend improvement and record the result at that time
   7. Check the biscuit weight, color, thickness and baking quality is as per the standard, recommend improvement, if defect found hold for decision.
   8. Check the packing quality, expire date printing, mandatory labeling clearness and sealing quality, quantity in packing and record the result, recommend improvement
   9. Check application of adhesive tape on the secondary packaging, number of packet on the carton, if the biscuit is Galleta check the net weight of the biscuit and the tightness of tread application.
   10. Take a random representative sample from the packed and stacked biscuits at the end of the shift and check biscuit baking quality, moisture, thickness, pack and carton biscuit number of shell and packet, packing quality etc and tag a green tag if it fulfills our requirements if not hold (yellow tag) for decision.
3. Check if the measuring equipment working properly and recommend maintenance or calibration accordingly
4. Check the Hygiene and sanitation of the production plant
5. Record all test and inspection results and sign
6. Check the updated international and Ethiopian quality standard of finished product and recommend for implementation
7. Weigh and recode product and packing material wastages at the given interval and inform to production the it exceeds the maximum limit for improvement
8. Maintain the cleanness of laboratory and lab equipment.
9. Make sure the Implement of food safety management system.
10. Report any issue in connection with food safety hazards to food safety committee or concerned head.
11. Make sure the rejected products are discarded properly
12. Inform on hold raw materials and finished products for immediate supervisor for decision
13. Perform other duties as determined under quality assurance head of kaliti food Share Company.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in food science, applied chemistry and related fields
• Two (2) years’ plus years of food quality experience
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends and be able to keep a flexible schedule during high volume production periods
