Senior Backend Software Engineer

Requirements:

• Typically 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of complex backend systems.
• Demonstrated ownership of significant backend projects from design through production.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, or Go.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and backend architecture.
• Good understanding of database design, caching, queues, retries, idempotency, and failure handling.
• Experience working with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and message queues.
• Strong judgment around system design and the trade-offs between reliability, complexity, cost, and delivery speed.
• A high bar for code quality, testing, observability, and operational excellence.
• Experience mentoring engineers and improving team-wide engineering practices.
• An ownership mindset: someone who takes responsibility for outcomes, not just assigned tasks.

Nice to Have:

Experience with any of the following is a strong plus:

• Real-time systems, WebRTC, LiveKit, telephony, SIP, or streaming infrastructure.
• Experience building and scaling foundational SaaS systems, such as observability and alerting systems, billing systems, and reliable distributed workflows.
• Production AI or LLM-based systems, including agent orchestration, tool calling, evaluation pipelines, or prompt engineering.
• Container orchestration, serverless architectures, messaging systems, and infrastructure-as-code.
• High-volume event processing, analytics pipelines, or search infrastructure.
