Lead WordPress Web Developer
Role Overview
As a Lead WordPress Web Developer, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing high-quality WordPress websites. You will lead web development projects, collaborate with designers and marketing teams, and ensure websites are fast, secure, responsive, and aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of WordPress websites
- Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins
- Convert Figma and design files into responsive WordPress websites
- Customize WordPress themes and functionality based on project requirements
- Optimize websites for speed, performance, security, and SEO
- Ensure responsive and mobile-friendly website development
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and website errors
- Manage website migrations, updates, backups, and maintenance
- Collaborate with designers, SEO, and marketing teams
- Review code and guide junior developers when required
- Stay updated with the latest WordPress technologies and web development trends
Requirements
Experience
- 3–5 years of professional experience in WordPress web development
- Proven experience leading WordPress projects and managing multiple websites
Core Skills
- Strong proficiency in WordPress development
- Experience with custom themes and plugin development
- Strong knowledge of Elementor or other WordPress page builders
- Experience with WooCommerce is an advantage
- Ability to convert Figma designs into WordPress websites
- Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first development
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
- Experience with MySQL and WordPress database management
- Familiarity with Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, or similar frameworks
- Knowledge of website speed and performance optimization
- Understanding of SEO-friendly development practices
- Experience with WordPress security, backups, and website migrations
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent attention to detail
