Assistant Accountant

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Part qualifications in AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
• Five years of relevant experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as [QuickBooks / Xero / Sage / ERP system] is an advantage.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Scope

• Recording financial transactions such as sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
• Maintaining accounting records and ensuring documents are properly filed.
• Preparing invoices and checking bills, receipts, and payment documents.
• Accounts payable and receivable - tracking money owed to suppliers and money due from customers.
• Bank reconciliation - comparing bank statements with company accounting records and identifying differences.
• Preparing financial reports such as income statements, expense reports, and account summaries.
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assisting with payroll and checking salary-related records when required.
• Assisting with tax and statutory requirements by preparing relevant financial information and documents.
• Checking accuracy of accounts and identifying errors or unusual transactions.
• Supporting auditors by providing accounting records and supporting documents.
• Using accounting software such as SAP, Oracle Cloud or similar systems.
• Assisting the Accountant or Finance Manager with other financial and administrative duties.
