About the role
The GL Accountant is responsible for executing and reviewing key General Ledger activities to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of financial information. This role plays a critical part in month-end close, financial reporting, balance sheet integrity, and continuous process improvement while serving as a partner to cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries, including complex accounting transactions.
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of variances.
- Analyze account fluctuations and provide explanations to stakeholders.
- Support accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting requirements.
- Support internal and external audits and maintain supporting documentation.
- Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives.
- Partner with FP&A, Tax, Intercompany, AP/AR, and other finance teams to resolve accounting matters.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of General Ledger or Record-to-Report experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- SAP and advanced Excel proficiency.
- Intermediate to advanced English.
- Shared Services experience preferred.
