KG Talent is seeking an experienced Operations Manager on behalf of a leading Australian manufacturer of steel building products based in Toowoomba.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day operations, lead a hands-on team and make a real impact across production, safety, service and business performance.
We’re looking for a practical, people-focused leader who understands manufacturing, knows how to get the best out of a team and is always looking for ways to improve.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities
- Manage production, workflow, resources and operational priorities
- Lead, coach and develop teams to achieve strong results
- Drive workplace health and safety standards across operations
- Monitor productivity, quality, costs and delivery performance
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and output
- Ensure products are manufactured to the required quality standards
- Work closely with sales, warehouse, transport and other teams to meet customer commitments
- Manage operational challenges and resolve issues quickly
- Track key performance measures and drive continuous improvement
- Build a positive, accountable and safety-focused team culture
About you
You’re a hands-on operations leader who can balance the bigger picture with the day-to-day details. You communicate well, make sound decisions and know how to turn business priorities into practical results.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in operations or manufacturing leadership
- Strong people management and team development skills
- A solid understanding of production planning and workflow
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Experience improving productivity, quality and operational performance
- Good commercial awareness and problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A practical, proactive approach and a willingness to lead from the floor
Experience in steel manufacturing, roll forming, building products or industrial manufacturing will be highly regarded.
