Mobile App Development Manager

We are looking for a hands-on Mobile App Development Manager to lead engineering for mobile and web applications that enable merchants to accept and manage payments across channels including UPI, QR, cards, and digital payment solutions. You will drive development of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications that support merchant onboarding, payment acceptance, transaction management, settlements, and value-added services across partner ecosystems.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Payments Platform and Hardware Engineering:

• Merchant Ecosystem: Lead development of merchant apps supporting UPI, dynamic/static QR, card acceptance, and digital payment workflows.
• Embedded Logic: Oversee the development of Embedded C++ applications for Soundboxes and POS machines, ensuring seamless real-time notifications and hardware-to-cloud synchronization.
• Full Lifecycle Management: Build and optimize capabilities across the merchant lifecycle: onboarding, KYC/KYB flows, activation, transaction monitoring, and settlements.
• Integration and Security: Ensure secure integration with payment gateways, acquiring systems, switch APIs, and banking platforms. Drive high availability and reliability for all payment-critical applications.

Bank and Partner Integrations:

• Configurable Deployments: Deliver white-labeled mobile solutions for partner banks, PSPs, and acquiring institutions.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary technical point of contact for bank clients and hardware vendors, translating complex requirements into robust technical specifications.
• Compliance: Ensure all mobile and hardware solutions meet rigorous security and regulatory expectations (e. g., PCI-DSS, data protection, and audit readiness).

Architecture and Modern Engineering:

• Scalable Frameworks: Contribute to the evolution of payment SDKs and reusable components to support transaction growth.
• AI-Driven Development: Champion the use of AI coding agents (e. g., Cursor, Copilot) to optimize code performance, automate unit testing for firmware, and accelerate release cycles.

Team Leadership and Hiring:

• Mentorship: Lead and grow a high-performing squad of engineers across Android, iOS, and Embedded Systems.
• Strategic Growth: Own the hiring roadmap for the mobile team, identifying and onboarding top-tier talent.
• Roadmap Prioritization: Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Compliance teams to drive prioritization across client commitments and platform investments.

Requirements:

• Core Experience: 6-10 years in Software Development, with 1+ years in a tech leadership role.
• Mobile Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin and the Android SDK. Professional knowledge of Swift is a significant advantage.
• Embedded C++: Strong hands-on experience in C++ (C++14 or higher) for hardware-software integration (NDK/JNI, POS logic, or Soundbox firmware).
• Architecture: Deep knowledge of MVVM/MVI patterns and building modular, white-labelable mobile frameworks.
• AI-Equipped: Proven experience using AI-driven development tools to enhance team productivity and code quality.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, client interaction, and stakeholder management skills. A strong execution mindset with the ability to manage multiple partner deployments in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Software Engineering / Electronics or a related field.
