Role purpose
As an Insights Student Assistant in the Global Insights team, you will support global product, marketing, and sales strategies by helping turn market data and consumer research into actionable insights.
You will work with a variety of data sources, tools, and stakeholders across the organisation. The role requires strong attention to detail, a structured approach, and the ability to balance work responsibilities with your studies.
You do not need to be a gamer to succeed in this role. However, curiosity about gaming, technology, consumer behaviour, and the industry will help you quickly build context and contribute as a voice of the consumer.
About you
You are comfortable working in Excel and enjoy using data to identify patterns, answer questions, and communicate clear recommendations. You have a strong quantitative foundation-particularly in maths and statistics-and are confident communicating findings in writing and presentations.
You are currently studying and expect to have approximately 2-3 years remaining in your programme.
What you will bring
Data and communication
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively in written and spoken English.
- Ongoing studies in computer science, data science, research, business, economics, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of data analysis and research methods, with an ability to turn findings into practical insights.
- Confidence presenting data, insights, and recommendations to different stakeholder groups.
Tools and systems
- Strong Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and data-visualisation tools.
- Comfort working with online collaboration platforms such as SharePoint and Teams.
- Experience or coursework in data science, computer science, survey research, or similar fields is an advantage.
Ways of working
- A structured and reliable approach, with the ability to manage several smaller tasks at once.
- Curiosity, initiative, and confidence asking questions when needed.
- A collaborative mindset and comfort working with stakeholders across different teams and locations.
- An interest in gaming and the gaming industry is an advantage, as it may help you understand our products and audiences.
What you can expect to do
Within your first month, you will
- Get to know the Global Insights team, SteelSeries’ brand, products, and the markets in which we operate.
- Become familiar with the data sources, tools, and platforms used to support global sales, marketing, and product teams.
- Begin supporting ongoing reporting and research activities.
Within your first three months, you will
- Independently prepare standard monthly reports.
- Support ad hoc requests from global teams by providing relevant data and guidance.
- Contribute to consumer surveys and help translate results into clear, actionable reports.
Within your first nine months, you will
- Present reports and insights confidently to global stakeholders.
- Take ownership of agreed reporting processes and data inputs.
- Help identify opportunities to improve reporting standards and team processes.
Location and working hours
The role is based at our office at Havneholmen in Copenhagen.
We have a hybrid way of working and offer flexibility to work from home when appropriate. At the same time, we value regular time together in the office to collaborate, learn, and connect with colleagues.
The expected workload is 15-20 hours per week, with flexibility during exam periods. Your studies come first.
Your direct manager is based in Amsterdam and works primarily remotely. There will be opportunities to meet during the year, and you will be part of the SteelSeries team in Copenhagen, including social activities and office events.
