Platform Operations Engineer

The Platform & Operations Engineer is responsible for building, securing, automating and operating ATLAS,

NP's Enterprise Data & AI Platform. The role ensures the platform is secure, reliable, scalable, cost-efficient

and compliant, while providing hands-on implementation and operational support across cloud, data and AI

services.

Key Responsibilities⚠ REQUIRED

1. Platform Engineering & Operations

a. Build, configure and maintain ATLAS platform services, environments and integrations.

a. Implement and manage IAM, encryption, secrets management and network security controls.

b. Establish and enforce secure access to platform resources and data assets.

3. DevSecOps & Automation

a. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code and platform automation.

b. Standardise deployment, monitoring and operational processes.

4. Monitoring & Incident Management

a. Implement monitoring, logging and alerting capabilities.

b. Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve platform, security and operational issues.

5. Security & Compliance

a. Monitor platform security posture and ensure compliance with NP governance and security

requirements.

b. Conduct vulnerability remediation, audit support and risk mitigation activities.

6. Technical Enablement & Collaboration

a. Support solution onboarding, data engineering and AI implementation teams.

b. Provide hands-on technical guidance and platform support for ATLAS use cases.

Requirements & Qualifications

A. Educational Qualification & Experience

Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or

equivalent.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Solution Architecture, Data Architecture or Enterprise

Architecture.

• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data platforms, lakehouses or analytics platforms.

• Experience leading architecture across multiple workstreams and vendors.

• Experience working with cloud-native data and AI platforms.

• Experience working with Azure Databricks and Government-Commercial-Cloud (GCC) environments.

B. Technical & Professional Competencies

Essential (Must-Have)

• Cloud & Platform Engineering - Minimum 10 years' experience in cloud platform engineering,

infrastructure engineering, DevSecOps or security engineering. Experience managing enterprise cloud or

data platforms. Experience in GCC environments.

• Cloud Technologies - Hands-on experience with Azure services, networking, storage, compute and identity

management. Obtained relevant Azure Certifications.

• Platform Administration - Experience administering Azure Databricks or similar data and analytics

platforms. Understanding of cluster management, jobs, orchestration and platform operations. Obtained

relevant Databricks Certifications.Official (Closed) - Non Sensitive

• Security Engineering - Experience implementing IAM, RBAC, encryption, secrets management and security

monitoring controls.

• DevSecOps & Automation - Hands-on experience with Terraform or Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD

pipelines, Git, Scripting (PowerShell, Python or Bash)

• Monitoring & Operations - Experience with monitoring, logging, incident management and operational

support.

• Security & Governance - Understanding of cloud security, vulnerability management, audit controls and

compliance requirements.

• Problem Solving & Collaboration - Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder engagement and technical

documentation skills.

Preferred (Advantageous)

• Azure Administrator Associate

• Databricks Certified Administrator

• Terraform certification

• Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Purview

• Experience supporting AI or GenAI platforms

• Experience in Government, Education or regulated environments
