Kraken Robotics is currently recruiting for a Site General Manager to join ourDartmouth, Nova Scotia Office.

The Site Manager acts as the central point of site leadership, ensuring that all teams work safely, efficiently, and collaboratively while maintaining compliance with company standards and site requirements. It does not have direct operational ownership of individual Business Unit activities but provides site-wide coordination, oversight, and facilitation to ensure alignment, minimize disruption, and drive overall site performance. The Site Manager acts as the primary point of contact for site stakeholders and drives a culture of continuous improvement, strong HSE performance, and operational excellence.

ROLES AND RESPONSBILIITES

• Plan, prioritize, and coordinate site activities which draw on common site resources (operations, maintenance, logistics, and projects) across the different Business Unit teams that are present on the site to meet service, schedule, and cost targets for all stakeholders.
• Monitor overall site performance, identify cross functional and cross BU improvement opportunities, and drive corrective actions and escalations with Business Unit leaders and corporate functions, including IT, Facilities, Security, and HSE, where required.
• Coordinate site-level participation in business continuity, emergency response, physical security, and incident management activities, working with embedded shared service support staff and HSE business partners as appropriate.
• Cultivate relationships with key Business Unit, Business Group and Kraken Corporate leaders so that urgent emerging site issues and risks (and long-term planning considerations) can be escalated as required.
• Ensure site compliance with company policies and applicable local country legal/regulatory requirements, supporting audits and implementing actions to address findings.
• Own site HSE performance: ensure risk assessments, permits, incident reporting/investigations, and corrective actions are completed and embedded in daily execution.
• Ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance, asset integrity, and statutory inspections; maintain accurate records and close out defects in a timely manner.
• Manage contractors and key suppliers on-site, including scope definition, onboarding/induction, supervision, performance management, and quality assurance of delivered work.
• Act as the primary on-site point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, coordination, and timely escalation of risks and issues.
• Represent Kraken alongside other senior leaders in the context of site visits to the location by government or industry stakeholders, including credibly describing the whole of Kraken’s business and its development in the location and globally.
• Control site spend (for costs not directly allocated to a specific Business Unit) and support budgeting/forecasting by monitoring costs, approving/validating expenditure within delegated authority, and identifying efficiency opportunities.
• Prepare and present regular site performance reports (HSE, operational KPIs, maintenance backlog, projects, risks) and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and service delivery.
• Act as the site designated official for safety, security, and other regulatory and industry requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• Demonstrated experience managing a site or facility in an industrial, energy, marine, logistics, or manufacturing environment, with accountability for safety, performance, and compliance.
• Strong HSE leadership and working knowledge of risk assessment, permit-to-work systems, incident investigation, and corrective action management (formal HSE qualification/certification preferred).
• Experience coordinating maintenance and asset integrity activities, including planned maintenance, statutory inspections, and management of maintenance backlogs.
• Proven capability managing contractors and service providers, including scope definition, onboarding/induction, supervision, and quality/performance management.
• Strong planning, organizational, and cost-control skills, with ability to monitor KPIs and produce clear operational and HSE reporting.
• Strong people leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving continuous improvement and building a positive safety culture.
