Android Developer / Engineer

Our client is a global music and audio streaming platform. We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer for a consulting assignment focused on developing social and real-time features in its large-scale consumer application.

You will work on user-facing Android features, social feeds and near-real-time synchronisation. You will also help evolve the underlying architecture and APIs, with a strong focus on performance, network efficiency, battery consumption, scalability and quality.

Responsibilities

• At least 8 years of experience in Android development.
• In-depth knowledge of modern Android development and Kotlin.
• Deep knowledge of Android architecture, design patterns and API design.
• A good understanding of how mobile applications interact with backend systems.
• Experience with real-time synchronisation and mobile performance optimisation.
• Experience optimising battery consumption, network usage and application performance.
• Experience using AI agent tools and agent-based development workflows, such as Cursor and Claude.

Nice to have

• Experience with C++.
• Experience with iOS development.
• Experience working across multiple platforms and codebases.

Requirements
