Role and Responsibilities ****

Kult Farm is looking for a highly motivated intern to support the scaling of solid-state fermentation processes for new plant-based protein alternatives. The selected candidate will work closely with the R&D team to translate lab protocols into robust pilot-scale processes and contribute to product and process development.

• Support experimental planning and execution for solid-state fermentation scaling trials.
• Prepare substrates, inocula and fermentation runs following SOPs and good laboratory practices.
• Monitor and record process parameters such as temperature, humidity and time.
• Assist with sample handling and basic downstream processing.
• Contribute to data analysis, reporting and technical documentation.

Qualifications ****

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or currently enrolled, in a STEM field such as Biotechnology, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Microbiology or related discipline.
• English is required.
• Strong interest in fermentation, alternative proteins and sustainable food systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with fermentation is desirable.
• Experience with process scaling is also desirable.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, Python or R is a plus.
