Labcorp is seeking an AWS PostgreSQL Database Administrator Intern to join our Enterprise Infrastructure team located in Durham, NC with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule!
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40hrs per week
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of AWS Aurora PostgreSQL and on-premises PostgreSQL databases.
- Support database performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization activities.
- Participate in database provisioning, backup, recovery, patching, and upgrade tasks.
- Assist with troubleshooting database-related issues and resolving incidents under the guidance of senior DBAs.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for database administration and operational processes.
- Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Terraform.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to support deployment automation using UrbanCode Deploy (UCD).
- Work with Bitbucket repositories for source code management, version control, and collaborative development.
- Assist in implementing database monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Systems.
Additional Job Standards:
- Document processes, procedures, and technical solutions.
- Participate in database migration and cloud modernization projects

Internship Details:
- Duration: 12 weeks, full-time
- Dates of Internship: May 24, 2027-August 13, 2027
- Compensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
- Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply
