Job Summary

Langan is seeking an Applications Developer to join its collaborative team in Panama. This individual will serve a key function in providing requirements gathering, analysis and design, writing code, debugging, documentation, maintenance.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner cross-functionally and with experienced developers in a technologically progressive, continuous learning environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement programming solutions to solve complex problems and increase efficiency of business processes through automation;
• Analyze, design, implement and modify desktop software applications and web sites to support business requirements and code reuse;
• Build software components that interact with various engineering applications such as AutoCAD, Revit and ProjectWise;
• Collaborate with employees and management to identify application development solutions, new applications or modifications to existing programs, capability to reuse existing code or integration of purchased solutions;
• Define, design, build, support and test reusable components to create complex systems;
• Perform research to explore and learn new technologies as they apply to projects;
• Provide expertise to system users including troubleshooting issues, as well as identifying and correcting inefficiencies;
• Clearly define systems work scope and recommend the most efficient and cost effective application programming solution;
• Remain abreast of technological advances in the field and be able to identify areas of use in the Firm;
• Communicate with the project team throughout all stages of design; and
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• At least 2+ years of experience/familiarity in the following areas of software development:
• C# .NET
• ASP.NET
• Visual Studio 2022
• Xamarin and/or MAUI (emphasis on Android)
• Android Studio / Android ADB
• JSON & XML
• Serialization techniques using JSON and/or XML
• MVC/MVVM design
• HTTP programming
• REST interface concepts and programming
• Asynchronous communications
• Multi-threaded programming
• Database programming with C# for SQL Server, SQLite
• User interface design & basic graphics
• Microsoft DevOps / TFS
• Revision control / bug tracking systems a plus (i.e., TFS, JIRA, GitHub, Bugzilla, et.al.)
• Testing and Trouble Shooting
• Bench testing
• Unit testing
• White box testing
• Black box testing
• Debugging techniques
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and describe software anomalies (i.e., software non-conformance to specification)
• Good Documentation skills:
• Create and maintain quality documents
• Software Design
• Test Procedures
• Software Requirements
• Understand relationship between requirements and test procedures
• Author test plans and test procedures
• Basic knowledge of “validated” development methodologies (i.e., Engineering, Healthcare, Aerospace)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio
• UML (Unified Modeling Language) diagramming
• Solid Verbal/Soft Skills
• Clearly convey ideas concepts as it pertains to software design, operation and performance
