Ledgy is a digital equity and executive compensation management platform headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. Founded in 2017 by Yoko Spirig, Ben Banisch, and Timo Horstschäfer, the company provides automated capitalization table (cap table) management, share plan administration, and financial reporting software designed for high-growth startups and global enterprises. Operating on a B2B SaaS subscription model, Ledgy serves finance, HR, and legal teams by orchestrating employee equity incentive plans, modeling round financing and exit scenarios, automating multi-jurisdictional compliance, and delivering transparent owner dashboards for employees and investors.

At Ledgy, we’re on a mission to make Europe a powerhouse of entrepreneurship by building a modern, tech-driven equity management and financial reporting platform for private and public companies. In 2026, we aim to be the leading provider for European IPOs and reporting for share-based payments. We are a value-based company with a core focus on being humble, transparent, ambitious and impactful, all in order to delivery the best experience for our customers and end users.

We are proud to partner with some of the world’s leading investors. New Enterprise Associates led our $22m Series B round in 2022, with Philip Chopin joining Sequoia’s Luciana Lixandru on our board.

We were founded in Switzerland in 2017 and today we operate globally from offices in Zurich and London. We encourage diversity and are an international team coming from 26 different countries and speaking 25 different languages.

About the role

As a Mid-level Software Engineer at Ledgy, you’ll build reliable, scalable product experiences that help companies manage their equity with confidence. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, product managers, and designers to turn complex equity workflows into clear, automated, user-friendly software.

This role is a strong fit if you’re ready to take ownership of well-scoped projects, grow your technical judgement, and contribute across the stack while learning from senior peers.

Location: We hire remotely across the UK, Spain, Germany, Poland, and Romania. For candidates based in London, we use a hybrid model with 2 days in the office per week.

Teams we are hiring for:

  • Core Equity - Owns the foundational logic that powers Ledgy’s equity engine. Every equity-related event - such as issuing shares, creating new pools, or adjusting ownership - generates transactions. This team defines and maintains the transaction logic, data model, and core domain behaviour that ensure Ledgy’s platform remains accurate, scalable, and compliant. They also enable employees to sell their shares seamlessly once vested.
  • Workflows & Automation - Focuses on automating complex equity workflows and integrating with third-party services, including the trading exchange. The team builds systems that help company admins efficiently onboard and offboard employees, automate equity grants and terminations.
  • Reporting - Transforms Ledgy’s core equity data into financial, operational, and compliance reports. The team manages large, complex datasets and ensures reporting is accurate, performant, and reliable across jurisdictions and company structures. Their work powers the insights companies and auditors rely on for decision-making and transparency.
  • Tax - Ensures taxes are correctly reflected throughout equity operations, especially moments such as exercising, selling, mobility, and other taxable events. As a future team, Tax will build end-to-end product capabilities across the stack, helping customers manage complex tax and compliance requirements accurately across jurisdictions.

You will thrive in the role if you

  • You have 3+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer
  • You are comfortable building and shipping production-quality features across the stack
  • You enjoy learning complex domains and turning them into simple, maintainable product experiences
  • You care about clean, tested, readable code and thoughtful collaboration
  • You are curious about equity, financial workflows, and their real-world impact on companies and employees
  • You’re excited to grow your technical judgement through code reviews, pairing, and architecture discussions
  • You take ownership of your work while asking for input early when trade-offs are unclear

Our Tech Stack*:

We have a modern, cohesive stack that lets us move fast while maintaining quality:

  • Language: TypeScript
  • Frontend: React, Tailwind CSS, tRPC
  • Backend: tRPC, Node.js, MongoDB, Temporal
  • Infrastructure: GCP, Terraform Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions

*We don’t expect proficiency in this specific stack

What Your Journey Could Look Like

First 30 days:

  • Be paired with an onboarding buddy who will introduce you to the world of equity management
  • Get to know your engineering team, product managers, and designers
  • Learn how your team’s domain connects to the broader Ledgy platform
  • Set up your development environment and start contributing small, well-scoped changes
  • Build familiarity with our codebase, product workflows, and engineering practices

First 3 months:

  • Ship product features and improvements with increasing independence
  • Work with teammates to break down problems, understand trade-offs, and deliver reliable solutions
  • Participate actively in code reviews and team discussions
  • Develop a deeper understanding of how companies manage and automate equity
  • Contribute to improving quality, maintainability, and user experience in your team’s domain

First 6-12 months:

  • Own medium-sized features from implementation through release
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to shape pragmatic, user-centric solutions
  • Contribute to technical discussions around data models, workflows, and scalability
  • Continue growing toward senior-level ownership, judgement, and impact

The interview process:

  • Getting to know you (45 min): Meet with someone from our people team to talk about your experience and to ask questions about the role
  • Live Coding (60 min): An equity domain problem to solve collaboratively using your preferred language and IDE. We want to see how you think, so this step does not allow AI. But you can freely look up syntax questions if you need to.
  • System Design (60 min): A system design session focused on practical problem-solving, clear trade-offs, and how you structure technical thinking
  • Case Study (60 min): Collaborate with a product manager and engineer to explore a problem related to Ledgy’s domain. Focus is on understanding requirements, product thinking, and implementation trade-offs.
  • Culture Interview: A chance to meet one of our founders and your hiring manager for a 30-minute chat about Ledgy’s mission and values
  • Offer

Being part of Ledgy means:

  • Recharge and re-energize with flexible working hours, 25 days of vacation, and up to 40 days of remote work from outside your home country.
  • We make space for your own professional development, with a generous yearly learning & development budget.
  • This role will receive a competitive salary + benefits + equity. All salaries are aligned with competitively benchmarked ranges based on work location and levelling.
  • For candidates based in London or Zurich we use a hybrid work model of 2 days in the office per week.
