Job Description

Are you ready to lead manufacturing projects that bring new capacity and technology safely and effectively into production across the Nyíregyháza site and EMEA?

In the Manufacturing Design and Implementation (MD&I) team at the LEGO® Group, you support Global and Local Manufacturing Teams, with moulding as the primary initial focus.

You lead projects that vary widely in complexity and scope, including moulding capacity and technology initiatives as well as logistics projects. Examples include spearheading technology upgrades at the Hungarian manufacturing site, securing on-time and safe capacity expansions, identifying and implementing improvements in team operations, and developing communication materials for stakeholders at various levels. You build a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations and collaborate with skilled colleagues in Hungary and Billund, project managers worldwide, and stakeholders throughout the organization.

The position is based in Nyíregyháza, Hungary.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead NYI and EMEA manufacturing projects across the factory, with primary initial responsibility for Moulding initiatives such as capacity expansion, technology implementation, retrofit, and machine or equipment relocation and installation, and potential future responsibility for logistics and other factory projects.
  • Own and control project scope, objectives, plan, milestones, budget, risks and opportunities, stakeholder landscape, and delivery status within the approved project framework.
  • Establish the project organization and ways of working; identify required specialists, prepare resource needs, and align allocations with resource owners and responsible leadership.
  • Drive implementation and ramp-up in line with the approved Project Brief, Business Case, steering committee direction, LEGO® Project Model requirements, and applicable policies and standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery with local Operations and global MD&I Moulding colleagues, including Platform Owners, technology specialists, Quality, EHS, IT, Finance, Procurement, and suppliers.
  • Maintain clear stakeholder communication, progress reporting, decision preparation, issue management, and escalation; organize steering committee meetings where applicable.
  • Plan and control testing, installation, go-live, and operational readiness, ensuring technical decisions affecting platforms are agreed with the relevant Platform Owner.
  • Secure structured handover to Manufacturing and Technology Owners, including documentation, asset registration, project archive, After Action Review, and closure reporting.

Play Your Part in Our Team Succeeding

MD&I is a global team of project managers and technology specialists responsible for manufacturing technology and implementation across the factory. The role’s primary initial scope is moulding, covering the production process from the initial silo building to the final product being placed into a plastic box, while the broader expected scope may include logistics and other factory areas. We drive technology development aligned with LEGO®’s goals of safety, performance, and sustainability, and manage the planning and implementation of machinery and systems in our factories worldwide.

This role, based in Hungary, serves as a critical link to our largest European production site. The primary focus is on stakeholder management and communication, project planning and execution, and adapting quickly to the dynamic production environment. While moulding is the initial core area, you and your colleagues may support projects across the full factory to enable safe and effective operations.

You will lead a complex network of stakeholders across factory functions, including Production, Logistics, Procurement, EHS, Finance, global engineers, and global workplace projects, to ensure smooth implementation and clear delineation of responsibilities between global and local stakeholders.

Do You Have What It Takes?

Your academic degree should be related to engineering, project management, logistics, or another relevant technical field, with practical capability applicable to manufacturing projects.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading projects or substantial project work packages through planning, execution, implementation, and handover.
  • Practical knowledge of project scope, schedule, budget, risk and opportunity management, resource planning, change control, and progress reporting.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and working effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical or business topics clearly and prepare concise decision material for stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Strong collaboration, facilitation, problem-solving, prioritization, and follow-through skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and disciplined documentation in a manufacturing or technical delivery environment.
  • Professional proficiency in English for collaboration within an international organization.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with injection moulding, manufacturing equipment, factory capacity, logistics, material flow, retrofit, relocation, installation, or ramp-up projects.
  • Knowledge of recognized project-management methods and structured continuous-improvement approaches.
  • Experience working in a global or cross-cultural manufacturing organization.
  • English language capability and familiarity with the NYI operating environment.

Language Skills
