The Defense Sector of Leidos has a career opportunity for a talented Quality Control Lead to support several programs in the Non-Kinetics Business Area in Alburquerque, NM. This position serves as a member of a team with the responsibility to ensure quality service is provided to customers through the generation of a Quality Management System, control of program processes, and record/report metrics.

This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining technical quality assurance and control systems to prevent defects in delivered products. Duties may include defining and implementing standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of client and/or company products. Using existing or developed systems, identifies failure trends and verifies consistency of design standards throughout the entire product lifecycle, from design through delivery. Analyzes post-delivery reports and feedback for trends and recommends actions to correct procedural, product, or process deficiencies. Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with moderate impact on the area/ project team. Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments. May assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments. Addresses somewhat complex technical issues/problems using internal best practice and through collaboration with colleagues. Develops solutions to technical problems that require depth of technical knowledge but are typically limited in complexity. Communicate with colleagues across multiple areas (project managers, other technical resources, etc.). Explain technical solutions, practices and procedures to others within the organization. Requires working knowledge of and ability to apply standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques of technical domain.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist in Planning and Documenting the Receipt & Shipping Inspections, document & control any non-conformities, inspections of material to verify conformance to requirements. Review shipping requirements for accuracy, completeness, authorization, destination, special handling/labeling requirements. Monitor Inventory Accuracy, inventory counts maintaining records for customer knowledge and auditing purposes. Maintain records for Quality Assurance purposes. Assist with internal and external audits. Other duties as required.

Integrated QMS Development and implementation:

  • Collaborate with program teams to design, implement, and execute a QMS
  • Define the QMS in program Quality Assurance Plans (QAP)/Quality Control Plans (QCP)
  • Lead development and implementation of streamlined QMS processes aligned to program execution risk, schedule, and priority

Performance Measure Monitoring:

  • Support program leadership in identifying and defining meaningful program performance measures (including contractual Service Level Agreements, Leidos internal required measures, and program-defined measures)
  • Support development and implementation of a monitoring program for these measures

Structured Process Improvement:

  • Support programs in developing and maintaining a continuous improvement program
  • Recommend, facilitate, track and report on continuous process improvement activities
  • Utilize industry standard methodologies to lead structured continuous process improvement efforts
  • Evidence with metrics and data that completed improvement activities were effective

Quality Investigations & Corrective Action:

  • Perform detailed investigations and root cause analyses of quality issues, identify risks, facilitate containment actions, and drive effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review supplier inspection and test documentation, including First Article Inspections (FAIs), source inspection records, material certifications, and test reports.
  • Apply lessons learned, performance data, and industry best practices across programs to drive improvement and prevent recurring issues.

Reporting, Communications, and Escalation:

  • Provide the PM with regular briefings (performance metrics performance, inspection reports, continuous improvement project status and achievements) to support situational awareness and execution reporting
  • Support Leidos reporting, such as Quality Management Reviews, In Process Reviews, Weekly Activity Reports, and Monthly Operational Reviews
  • Report to higher level management on Quality Achievement and act as liaison for enterprise quality initiatives for the program

General:

  • Perform additional quality assurance responsibilities as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment,

OR

High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 15 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years in Quality Engineering within an AS9100 environment or equivalent experience supporting DoD, aerospace, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries

  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple projects, programs, or product lines simultaneously within a complex aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or government-contracting environment
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, balance program demands and effectively communicate with stakeholders across multiple organizations and program teams
  • Ability to work effectively with Program Managers, Quality Engineers, Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and suppliers to ensure quality requirements are clearly understood and implemented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office applications, and technical report writing
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Hardware Assembly/Integration Projects (in QA/QC or another capacity)
  • Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt
  • Certified Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt
  • Experience with GSA and/or Department of War-administered contracts

Pay Range:

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
