Position Overview
This role supports Lenovo’s global e-commerce platform under a new business model, covering both B2B and B2C omni-channel sales. As a key component of Lenovo’s strategic development, the platform continuously incorporates the latest industry trends and innovative technologies. Built on a modern microservices architecture, it is undergoing ongoing optimization to support the rapid growth of Lenovo’s global e-commerce business.
We are looking for an engineer with strong Java foundations who can bring AI capabilities, such as LLM-powered search, assistants, and automation, into this production platform. You will build AI features end to end: from backend services and data pipelines to user-facing integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Java microservices for the e-commerce platform (product, order, pricing, cart, search, etc.).
- Build and integrate AI-powered features into the platform, such as intelligent product search and recommendation, conversational shopping assistants, content generation, and customer-service automation.
- Design and implement RAG pipelines and LLM application workflows (prompting, retrieval, tool calling, agents), and expose them as reliable, scalable services.
- Integrate LLM and ML capabilities with existing Spring Cloud services, including API design, performance tuning, caching, and cost control.
- Maintain and optimize existing systems, including troubleshooting and performance improvements.
- Collaborate with developers, data scientists, designers, and product managers to deliver business outcomes.
- Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and technical documentation; participate in code reviews.
- Keep up with emerging AI technologies and evaluate new tools and techniques for practical adoption.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or a related field.
- Graduates from top-tier universities or Master’s degree holders are preferred.
Core Java and Backend (Required)
- At least 5 years of Java development experience.
- Proficiency with mainstream open-source frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and MyBatis.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and related technologies, including Spring Cloud, Nacos, Redis, Jenkins, and GitLab.
- Experience in database design and development using MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, etc.
AI Capabilities (Required)
- Hands-on project experience with RAG or modern LLM application patterns (prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search, tool/function calling).
- Experience integrating LLM APIs into production applications, using Java frameworks (Spring AI, LangChain4j) or Python frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph).
- Working proficiency in Python for AI prototyping and data processing.
- Understanding of how to evaluate and monitor LLM application quality, latency, and cost.
E-commerce Expertise
- Solid understanding of both B2B and B2C e-commerce models.
- Hands-on experience building internet-based e-commerce websites; experience in internet or e-commerce companies is preferred.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Elasticsearch or vector databases (e.g., Milvus, pgvector, Elasticsearch vector search).
- Experience with front-end frameworks (React or Vue) for building AI-facing user interfaces.
- Experience with AI agent frameworks, MCP, or AI-assisted development tools.
- Personal or open-source AI projects and prototypes.
Soft Skills and Language
- Strong ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent research, learning, and teamwork capabilities.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Mandarin is a strong advantage.
