Blockchain Engineer / Lead

We are looking for an experienced Blockchain Engineer / Lead with strong expertise in designing, developing, and integrating distributed applications across permissioned and public blockchain platforms. The ideal candidate will combine strong blockchain engineering skills with hands-on experience in Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Financial Market Infrastructure.

The role will focus on building production-grade blockchain solutions involving smart contracts, backend services, distributed applications, and integrations supporting capital markets and post-trade processes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain blockchain-based distributed applications for capital markets and financial services.

- Develop and implement smart contracts and blockchain-based business logic.

- Work across permissioned and public blockchain platforms based on business and technical requirements.

- Develop backend services and APIs that integrate blockchain networks with enterprise applications and financial systems.

- Design and implement blockchain integrations supporting securities settlement, custody, clearing, asset servicing, and post-trade processing.

- Develop solutions supporting straight-through processing (STP) and automation of post-trade workflows.

- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions for blockchain solutions.

- Ensure solutions meet requirements for scalability, security, reliability, performance, and data integrity.

- Integrate blockchain applications with existing capital markets and financial market infrastructure.

- Develop unit and integration tests for smart contracts, backend services, and blockchain integrations.

- Troubleshoot application, smart-contract, integration, and blockchain network issues.

- Perform code reviews and contribute to engineering standards, development practices, and technical documentation.

- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, product teams, and capital markets stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Support deployment, monitoring, production releases, and ongoing enhancement of blockchain applications.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members where required.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 6 - 11 years of experience in software engineering, with significant hands-on experience in Blockchain / Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT).

- Strong experience designing and developing blockchain-based distributed applications.

- Hands-on experience with smart contract development and blockchain integrations.

- Experience working with permissioned and/or public blockchain platforms.

- Strong backend development and API integration experience.

- Strong understanding of blockchain architecture, distributed systems, consensus mechanisms, transactions, cryptography, and digital assets.

- Strong hands-on experience in at least one relevant blockchain technology stack such as Ethereum/EVM, Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, or equivalent.

- Strong experience in Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Financial Market Infrastructure.

- Good understanding of securities settlement, custody, clearing, asset servicing, and post-trade processing.

- Experience with STP workflows and integration of financial market processes.

- Strong understanding of financial-market transaction lifecycles and enterprise integrations.

- Experience with secure API design, integration patterns, and distributed application development.

- Good understanding of blockchain security, smart-contract testing, and secure development practices.

- Experience with CI/CD, version control, automated testing, and production deployment.

- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

- For Lead-level positions, experience in technical leadership, architecture discussions, code reviews, and mentoring is preferred.
