Description
Supervises support staff across specific print shift within Publishing. Leads the staff in providing guidance, assistance, coordination and follow up on print jobs, equipment and best practices. Manages floor operators in the monitoring, identification and support response for large scale print jobs. Assists the manager in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures on the print floor. May support and or run special projects regarding print projects that come into Publishing.
Responsibilities:
Manages staff of a specific shift within Publishing.
Conducts performance evaluations of staff, provides feedback and helps to develop and follow through on development plans.
Responsible for reporting and print analysis. Follow through on areas of opportunity identified during Quality Control observations.
Monitors quality of service workflow and coaches’ employees on areas of improvement.
Monitors and ensures all SLA goals are met.
Monitors and tracks staffing, workflow, and training needs.
Assists in the candidate selection process, manages equipment operators and coaches and counsels team members.
Responsible for continual improvements and focuses on the growth of print operations.
May support and/or run special projects regarding broader initiatives with IT front office.
Conducts performance evaluations of staff, provides feedback, helps to develop and follow through on development plans. Makes compensation recommendations for staff.
Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Associates Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Supervisor certification and at least five years’ experience in print, insert and publishing or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Requires an extensive knowledge of print and insert operations, excellent organizational, communication, judgement and managerial skills.
The ability to work effectively with customer, IT management, staff and vendors.
