LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative that’s been supporting herd improvement in New Zealand’s dairy sector for more than 115 years. We’re focused on providing superior genetics, reliable testing and diagnostics, integrated on-farm software, and great customer service, all designed to help farmers make smarter decisions every day.

As a proud generational co-operative, we’re here for farmers, their families, and rural communities, not just for today, but for the future. And none of it happens without our people. Whether on farm, in the lab, or behind the scenes, every one of us plays a part in helping New Zealand farmers succeed.

About the Role:

Reporting to the AB Logistics & Despatch Manager, you'll be part of LIC's Operations & Service group, which includes our Artificial Breeding, Diagnostics, Farm Management and Herd Testing teams.

As an AB Base Supervisor, you'll be responsible for ensuring all AB products and services are delivered safely, accurately and on time within your region. You'll coordinate daily operations, oversee seasonal delivery drivers, manage inventory and equipment, and ensure your base operates efficiently throughout the season.

During the busy AB season, you'll lead and support a team of approximately 12-14 seasonal delivery drivers, ensuring delivery schedules are met and resources are effectively allocated. Outside of the season, you'll focus on AB kit collection, operational planning, vehicle coordination, stock management and preparation for the following season.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, leading from the front, and keeping complex operations running smoothly.

Your Key Focus:

  • Lead the daily operation of the AB Base, ensuring products and services are delivered efficiently and on time.

  • Coordinate seasonal delivery drivers and support the development of daily delivery runs.

  • Manage the receipt, storage, inventory and distribution of semen and AB equipment products.

  • Maintain accurate stock control records and reporting.

  • Ensure field teams receive the equipment and resources they need to deliver exceptional service.

  • Coordinate maintenance requirements for the AB vehicle fleet and assist with rental vehicle arrangements.

  • Support the planning and logistics of annual operational events, including the Spring Conference.

  • Manage the distribution and return of AB Technician cases, equipment and Datamates.

  • Champion Health & Safety within the base, ensuring transport and handling requirements for liquid nitrogen (LN₂) are met.

  • Monitor incident reporting and hazard management processes and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.

  • Experience coordinating logistics, resources, vehicles, equipment or operational activities.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the confidence to work independently.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Strong administration, reporting and stock control capabilities.

  • A commitment to providing outstanding service to both internal and external customers.

  • Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems.

  • Experience leading, coordinating or supporting teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical solutions.

  • Dairy industry, farming or agricultural experience would be advantageous, but transferable logistics and operational experience will also be highly valued.

In Return:

In addition to a competitive salary, you'll receive some great benefits including:

  • Extra leave days

  • Flexible working options

  • Discounted health, life, income and disability insurances

  • Access to our employee shares scheme

  • Wellbeing discounts

  • Free onsite parking

  • Our Hamilton office is located in a park-like setting, with tennis court, pool, and onsite café and social club!

In this role you'll be part of a team that's helping drive the future success of New Zealand dairy farming. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of a key operational function, work with passionate and supportive colleagues, and play an important role in delivering services that farmers rely on every day.

If you're an organised leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys making things happen behind the scenes, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now and help keep one of LIC's most important seasonal operations running at its best.
