How You’ll Contribute

The Dialysis Program Coordinator is a Registered Nurse responsible for the coordination, implementation, operation, and growth of the hospital's inpatient dialysis program, with a primary focus on the Tablo Hemodialysis System. This position serves as both a direct patient care provider and program coordinator, performing dialysis treatments while overseeing program operations, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, staff education, equipment maintenance, and water quality management.

The Dialysis Program Coordinator functions as the organization's clinical and operational expert for acute dialysis services and Tablo therapy, collaborating with physicians, nursing leadership, interdisciplinary teams, and vendor partners to ensure safe, effective, evidence-based care for patients requiring renal replacement therapy.

This role is accountable for the overall success, sustainability, utilization, and regulatory readiness of the dialysis program.

Essential Functions

• Performs acute hemodialysis treatments utilizing the Tablo Hemodialysis System and other approved dialysis equipment.
• Conducts pre-treatment, intra-treatment, and post-treatment patient assessments.
• Initiates, monitors, manages, and discontinues dialysis treatments.
• Recognizes and responds appropriately to patient complications and changes in clinical condition.
• Collaborates with nephrologists, tele nephrologist, intensivists, hospitalists, and nursing staff regarding treatment plans and patient care needs.
• Provides patient and family education related to dialysis therapies and renal disease management.
• Documents treatments and patient responses accurately within the electronic medical record.
• Assists with dialysis scheduling and prioritization of patient treatments.
• Participates in call coverage and emergency dialysis services as needed.
• Serves as a resource and mentor to nursing staff involved in dialysis patient care.

What we’re looking for:

Applicants should have a current Arizona or compact state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Minimum two (2) years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years of dialysis, CRRT, or renal replacement therapy experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience performing acute hemodialysis treatments.
• Experience with the Tablo Hemodialysis System preferred.
• Leadership, educator, charge nurse, preceptor, or coordinator experience preferred
