About Lightpanda

Lightpanda is building a headless web browser from scratch, tailor-made for machine usage.

Our mission is to redefine web interaction by enabling AI agents, large-scale scraping, and automated workflows to run faster, smarter, and more efficiently, without the constraints of legacy browsers.

About this role

We’re seeking a skilled and diligent full-time software engineer to join our growing team. You will work as part of the engineering team to develop our open-source headless browser.

What you will do:

• Work as part of a team of engineers to design, build, test, and document the browser
• Improve the quality, efficiency, scalability, and stability of the browser
• Improve the binding framework with V8 JS engine
• Implement Web APIs and Chrome Devtools Protocol in Zig

What we’re looking for:

• Experience with system programming/low level language Zig, C++, C
• Familiarity with Web APIs and front-end JS technologies
• Comfortable working on an open source project and interacting with the community
• Familiarity with the internals of JavaScript runtimes (v8 or other) is a plus
• Ability to give and process constructive feedback, as well as work independently
• Flexibility to adjust to the dynamic nature of a startup
