Reporting to the Category Manager - IT &Systems, you'll play a key role in delivering procurement activity across a broad portfolio of technology-related spend, including hardware, software, cloud services and IT-related contracts.

This is an opportunity to make a real commercial impact, supporting the delivery of category strategies and leading sourcing activities from business requirement through to tendering, negotiation, contract award and ongoing supplier management.

You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure procurement activity delivers value for money, strong commercial outcomes and fit-for-purpose contracts, whilst maintaining the governance and controls required across CrossCountry.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing end-to-end procurement activities across IT and Systems categories, from requirements gathering through to contract award and implementation.
  • Supporting the Category Manager in delivering category strategies and procurement plans aligned to business objectives.
  • Leading tender exercises and sourcing events in accordance with company procurement policies and relevant procurement regulations.
  • Preparing tender documentation, evaluation methodologies, commercial assessments and recommendation reports.
  • Conducting supplier negotiations to achieve value for money, improved service levels and commercial benefits.
  • Building effective relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and identify appropriate sourcing solutions.
  • Supporting contract lifecycle management activities, including renewals, variations and supplier performance reviews.
  • Monitoring supplier performance against agreed service levels and key performance indicators, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings, process improvements and supplier rationalisation.
  • Undertaking spend analysis, market research and benchmarking exercises to support sourcing strategies and commercial decisions.
  • Producing management reports, procurement updates and savings reports for key stakeholders.
  • Supporting procurement governance requirements and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Collaborating with Procurement colleagues on cross-functional and business-wide procurement initiatives.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes, systems and tools.

About You

You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:

  • Experience leading tender exercises and supplier negotiations.
  • Experience procuring technology-related goods and services, including software, hardware, cloud services and professional services.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and report-writing skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability.
  • Experience conducting spend analysis and identifying opportunities for cost optimisation.
  • Strong supplier management and contract management experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using Office 365 applications.
  • Experience working with procurement and purchase-to-pay systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritise multiple projects and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • CIPS qualification or active progress towards MCIPS desirable.
  • Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023, public procurement regulations, or regulated procurement environments would be advantageous.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who learns quickly, works well as part of a team, is comfortable asking questions and is committed to delivering high-quality commercial outcomes.

Why join us?

This is more than a role focused on running tenders. You’ll have the opportunity to influence how CrossCountry works with its technology and systems suppliers, improve commercial performance and help shape a procurement function that delivers real value to the business.
