This role will be based in San Francisco, Mountain View, Sunnyvale or New York.

At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

We’re looking for a creative, culturally plugged in communications professional to join our Consumer Communications team and help shape how LinkedIn reaches new audiences.

In this role, you’ll help lead our always-on consumer storytelling and partnerships work across the U.S., finding creative ways to bring LinkedIn into conversations happening beyond traditional business and workplace media. You’ll identify cultural moments where LinkedIn has something relevant to say, develop relationships with talent, media and emerging platforms, and build partnerships that introduce LinkedIn to new audiences.

The right person is equal parts storyteller, relationship builder and operator. You have strong instincts for what people are talking about, where conversations are happening and how a brand can participate in a way that feels relevant rather than forced. You’re comfortable moving quickly from an idea to execution, building relationships with media and external partners, and collaborating across cross-functional partners like, marketing, social, editorial and product.

Responsibilities

  • Lead always-on consumer storytelling, spotting cultural conversations, breaking news and emerging trends where LinkedIn can add a relevant point of view, and moving quickly to turn those moments into earned media.
  • Drive U.S. partnerships across talent, media and emerging platforms, developing creative opportunities that bring LinkedIn into new conversations and reach new audiences.
  • Manage LinkedIn’s Career Expert program, working closely with senior spokespeople to develop timely, culturally relevant media opportunities around the conversations people are having about work and careers.
  • Build and deepen relationships across consumer and culture media, including reporters, producers, creators, talent and emerging voices.
  • Oversee moments beyond traditional press, including partnerships, creator activations, events and experiences tied to LinkedIn’s campaigns and business priorities.
  • Manage external agency partners, developing strong briefs, pushing for creative ideas and driving work from concept through execution.
  • Measure what works and apply those learnings, continually evolving our consumer storytelling and partnerships approach.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related experience, AND 2+ years of experience in External Communications OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field AND minimum 4+ years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related experience, AND 2+ years of experience in External Communications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and executing consumer comms strategies, programs and partnerships.
  • Excellent media relations skills, with strong relationships across consumer, business, lifestyle and emerging media and the ability to build new ones.
  • Strong instinct and passion for culture and news, with the ability to spot timely moments and turn them into relevant consumer storytelling opportunities.
  • Creative storyteller with exceptional writing skills and a sharp editorial eye.
  • Ability to make quick decisions, navigate ambiguity and drive alignment across stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to translate insights into clear recommendations.
  • Demonstrated fluency with AI tools and curiosity about how AI is changing work.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High degree of integrity, maturity and good judgment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and social media analytics tools.
