Linklaters is a prominent multinational law firm and a member of the prestigious Magic Circle, providing strategic legal advice to the world's leading companies, financial institutions, and governments. Headquartered in London, United Kingdom, the firm operates an extensive network of offices across major financial centers in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. It specializes in a broad spectrum of practice areas, including corporate and mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and dispute resolution, to deliver innovative solutions for complex, high-stakes legal challenges.

Those who are among the best are entitled to expect a great deal from their employer: demanding advisory work, an outstanding reputation and excellent opportunities for development.

To strengthen our Corporate / M&A practice in Munich, we are looking for a

(Senior) Transaction Lawyer

Our Corporate / M&A teams advise leading corporates, financial sponsors, insurers and financial institutions on their most complex and predominantly cross-border corporate transactions. Our team brings together specialists from a broad range of disciplines.

Key focus areas of our Corporate / M&A practice

  • Cross-border acquisitions, private equity investments, mergers, joint ventures and transactions in regulated markets
  • Corporate reorganisations and the design and optimisation of group structures
  • Advising corporate bodies on strategic decisions and on complex issues of corporate governance, directors’ duties and compliance

Your role

As a (Senior) Transaction Lawyer you will be part of our wider Matter Optimisation Team and embedded within the Corporate / M&A practice in Munich. Your main focus will be project and transaction management within the Corporate / M&A area.

You will be involved in all phases of a transaction and will use the latest legal technology tools in your work. A key part of your role will be to coordinate and manage due diligence processes, from planning and set-up through to reporting. Your involvement will continue beyond the due diligence phase, for example in managing signing and closing processes and implementing post-closing measures.

You will have direct contact with clients and will make a significant contribution to the smooth and successful execution of cross-border transactions. You will work closely with Corporate / M&A fee earners on a wide variety of matters, and at the same time collaborate on a day-to-day basis with colleagues in our other Matter Optimisation teams including Project Management. In all of these tasks you will be in regular contact with colleagues across Germany and in our international offices.

Your profile

  • You have a degree in business law such as a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Business Law or Master of Laws (LL.M.), or you have successfully completed a comparable course of study, ideally with at least part of your studies undertaken abroad.
  • You have business-fluent German and English language skills.
  • Ideally, you have already gained initial experience in M&A transactions and/or due diligence projects, for example through internships, traineeships or a first role.
  • You are open minded, highly motivated and enjoy working on new topics and tackling complex challenges.
  • You enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams and have a genuine interest in international transactional work.

If this sounds like you, we look forward to welcoming you and your expertise to our Corporate / M&A practice.

In addition to your curriculum vitae and cover letter, please upload all relevant certificates, including your school leaving certificate (Abitur) and, where applicable, internship references.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates, irrespective of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion or belief, or ethnic and social origin.

We look forward to receiving your application via our online application system.
