Lockheed Martin is the largest defence contractor in the world, formed in 1995 by merging Lockheed Corporation with Martin Marietta and headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland. Its single most important programme is the F-35 Lightning II, the most expensive weapons system ever built, alongside the F-16, the C-130 transport and classified work at the Skunk Works advanced development unit. The company also dominates missile defence with THAAD and PAC-3 interceptors, supplies HIMARS and Javelin systems, owns the helicopter maker Sikorsky, and builds the Orion crew capsule and military satellites through its space division.

Deputy Logistics Project Manager (LPM)

Who You Are

You are a collaborative and results-driven logistics and project management professional who understands how to connect program requirements with Global Sustainment capabilities to deliver successful outcomes. You are comfortable working across Centers of Excellence (COEs), program teams, engineering, operations, functional organizations, and mutliple customer organizations to align priorities, resolve issues, and ensure commitments are executed.

You bring strong technical, cost, schedule, and quality management skills and understand how decisions made during the Design-Build-Sustain lifecycle affect program execution and long-term sustainment. You are organized, proactive, and able to identify risks, track performance, and communicate program status to leadership while keeping teams focused on mission and customer commitments.

As the Deputy Logistics Project Manager (LPM), you will support the LPM in maintaining visibility of Global Sustainment activities and serve as a key point of contact for program teams. You will help coordinate GS resources, drive cross-functional actions, and ensure the right capabilities are aligned to program needs. You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities, and working through ambiguity to develop practical solutions.

Most importantly, you are a team-oriented leader who takes ownership, communicates effectively, builds strong relationships, and is willing to step in and help drive execution wherever needed. You understand that successful sustainment requires more than managing individual tasks-it requires connecting people, processes, technical solutions, and resources to deliver the right capability at the right time.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) budgetary estimates, formal Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and related Subcontractor Statements of Work (SOWs) for new and continuing efforts.

  • Assist in identifying, collecting, and evaluating engineering, program, and vendor source data required to support ILS product development, including coordinating efforts to resolve data gaps and shortfalls.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables and other ILS products and services.
  • Monitor adherence to GS and program processes and procedures for product development and service execution.
  • Collect and analyze program metrics and prepare progress reports, leadership briefings, and inputs for formal program reviews related to GS activities.
  • Perform Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities in support of Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Serve as a liaison between Global Sustainment, external customers, subcontractors, and Lockheed Martin program management to facilitate communication, resolve issues, and support successful program execution.
