WHAT WE’RE DOING

At Lockheed Martin, quality is foundational to mission success. Within our manufacturing environment, teams build and support complex electronic and electromechanical products for critical defense programs. Our quality organization ensures products are built, inspected, accepted, and delivered in compliance with engineering, customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements while driving production excellence and continuous improvement.

THE WORK

This requisition is for a Level 3 Quality Engineer supporting defense production programs within a manufacturing environment. The selected candidate will serve as the quality engineering lead for assigned programs and functional areas, helping ensure compliant product is delivered on time while supporting factory execution and customer commitments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the quality engineering lead for assigned programs and manufacturing areas.
  • Review manufacturing documentation to ensure quality requirements are met and compliant product is delivered.
  • Lead and support corrective action activities, identify trends, assist in problem resolution, and ensure actions are completed.
  • Participate in Material Review Boards (MRB) and Failure Review Boards (FRB), including disposition of nonconforming hardware, containment actions, and verification of root cause and corrective action.
  • Make product quality decisions and determine acceptability of hardware in accordance with established requirements and authority.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, program teams, and internal stakeholders on quality-related issues.
  • Support customer audits, process reviews, and product delivery coordination for assigned areas.
  • Provide quality support for special manufacturing processes and production teams to ensure compliance and effective execution.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, and Program teams to resolve issues, maintain flow, and improve quality performance.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing escapes and strengthening product quality.

You are a quality engineering professional who works effectively in a fast-paced, high-visibility manufacturing environment. You are comfortable making quality decisions, leading discussions, and partnering across teams to resolve issues and maintain production flow.

You communicate clearly, follow through on commitments, and work effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders while balancing quality, production, and program priorities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience in quality engineering or manufacturing quality within a production environment.
  • Experience reviewing manufacturing documentation and verifying compliance to engineering and quality requirements.
  • Experience supporting root cause and corrective action activities.
  • Experience participating in or supporting MRB/FRB activities and nonconformance resolution.
  • Experience working with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, Program teams, suppliers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, as required.

Desired Skills

  • Experience supporting defense manufacturing programs involving electronic or electromechanical hardware.
  • Experience working in a high-visibility production environment.
  • Ability to lead corrective action meetings and drive issues to closure.
  • Experience making product accept/reject decisions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with special processes or controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, inspection methods, and manufacturing process controls.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or similar aerospace/defense quality requirements.
  • Experience interfacing with customers, suppliers, and program leadership on quality-related issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and serve as a quality focal point for assigned areas.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
