Lumilens is a photonics startup that designs and manufactures optical interconnects and transceivers that link servers in large AI data center GPU clusters, headquartered in San Jose, California. Led by chief executive and co-founder Ankur Singla with a team drawn from Cisco, Juniper, Meta, Lumentum and Coherent, it launched publicly in 2026 backed by Mayfield, reporting more than 900 million dollars in funding and a 5.5 billion dollar valuation. Its openings are mostly for optical design, test and manufacturing engineers, signal and power integrity engineers, quality and failure analysis engineers and manufacturing site supervisors, including roles in Thailand.

About Lumilens

At Lumilens we are building the critical photonics infrastructure that powers tomorrow’s AI supercomputing. From chip-to-chip optical interconnects to scalable photonic engines, Lumilens is unlocking a new era of computing-faster, cooler, and massively more efficient. We’re a well-funded startup backed by Mayfield and led by veterans who’ve built and scaled some of the most transformative technologies in the industry. This isn’t incremental innovation-it’s a ground-floor opportunity to rethink the optical layer from the silicon up. You’ll work alongside a team of world-class engineers solving some of the hardest challenges in optics, systems, and scale. Every line of code, every design decision, every breakthrough you help deliver-will shape the infrastructure of tomorrow.

If you're looking for mission, momentum, and the chance to make an outsized impact-jump on the rocket ship. We’re just getting started.

Position Overview

Lumilens is seeking a Product Line Manager to support strategy and execution across high-speed optical interconnect solutions. In this individual contributor role, you will partner closely with product management, program management, application engineering, and commercial teams to help define product priorities, support customer engagement, and drive execution against business goals. You will contribute to product lifecycle management, market analysis, and cross-functional coordination across high-speed optical interconnect solutions, with particular emphasis on pluggable optics and next-generation 800G and 1.6T transceiver platforms for cloud, AI, and optical networking customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive execution of the co-packaged optical solution product line, aligning product strategy, technical requirements, development milestones, and production launch objectives.

  • Partner with engineering, product, customer-facing teams, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to identify technical gaps, define clear solutions, and keep programs on track against committedlaunch timelines.

  • Lead manufacturing partner engagement to ensure completion of key design, reliability, design verification, compliance testing, and reporting activities prior to product launch.

  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Photonics Design, Hardware Design, Packaging, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, Product Marketing, and Supply Chain to support robust product development and transfer to production.

  • Lead internal readiness planning to ensure materials, suppliers, technical documentation, and operational requirements are in place to support ongoing customer program engagement.

  • Support supplier technical discussions by ensuring engineering and product teams have the models, technical details, requirements, and decision points needed for successful design execution.

  • Partner with engineering and operations to ensure qualified suppliers meet all component validation, reliability, quality, and production release requirements.

  • Prepare, present, and document technical reviews, product line updates, reliability reports, and risk assessments for internal leadership and customer-facing engagements.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field

  • Experience supporting or managing optical product lines for communications, networking, or data transmission applications

  • Working knowledge of pluggable optical modules and transceiver technologies, including 800G platforms and emerging 1.6T architectures

  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, sales, and manufacturing teams

  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management, market analysis, and customer engagement

  • Comfort working with business metrics, product performance data, and commercial trade-offs

What Will Put You Ahead

  • MBA or advanced technical degree

  • Experience in photonics, optics, or adjacent high-speed connectivity technologies

  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure, data center, or optical networking markets

  • Familiarity with common pluggable transceiver form factors and deployment considerations, such as QSFP-DD and OSFP platforms

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and significant equity compensation in a rapidly growing, well-funded startup.

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Flexible time off policy.

  • Direct impact on groundbreaking technology shaping the future of AI and data centers.

  • Opportunity to work with a highly experienced and collaborative team.

  • Dynamic and innovative work environment

  • Opportunity for rapid career growth

Equal Opportunities
