Within this organization, QA is not just about testing products at the end of the development cycle. Our QA organization is involved from the early stages of product development and builds processes and practices that enable the entire team to continuously improve quality.
As a QA Manager, you will lead the QA team and work closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to improve both product quality and the overall development process.
Responsibilities
Lead the QA Organization
- Set goals, manage progress, and drive continuous improvement across the QA team.
- Define QA strategies and quality objectives based on product and organizational needs. Standardize and improve QA and testing processes.
- Identify quality challenges across multiple products and development teams and drive improvements.
Drive Product Quality
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to improve product quality.
- Promote shift-left practices to identify quality risks early in the development lifecycle, including during requirements definition and design.
- Analyze defects and incidents and drive preventive actions and continuous improvement.
- Make quality risks associated with products and releases visible and communicate them clearly to stakeholders.
Drive Test Automation and Continuous Quality Assurance
- Define and promote test automation strategies.
- Collaborate with engineers to integrate automated testing into development processes and CI/CD pipelines.
- Establish an appropriate balance between manual and automated testing.
- Continuously improve test reliability, execution speed, and maintainability.
Evolve QA Through AI
- Use AI development tools and generative AI to improve the efficiency of test design, test case creation, analysis, and other QA activities.
- Improve and automate QA processes through AI.
- Evaluate and introduce new QA technologies and tools.
- Continuously evolve QA roles and processes for an AI-driven development environment.
Develop QA Team Members
- Conduct 1-on-1s, provide feedback, and perform evaluations.
- Support the career development of QA engineers.
- Create opportunities for team members to develop their expertise and grow professionally.
- Build a psychologically safe team environment that encourages continuous learning. Improve the Organization.
Recruit and onboard QA talent.
- Continuously improve the roles and responsibilities of the QA organization.
- Foster a strong quality culture across the engineering organization.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives across teams and products.
Promote Global Development
- Collaborate with development teams in Japan and overseas.
- Work effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds.
- Improve QA processes and quality standards across our global development organization.

Application Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
QA and Quality Assurance
- Hands-on experience in QA and software testing for Web services or software products
- Knowledge and experience across the QA lifecycle, including test planning, test design, test execution, and defect analysis.
- Experience identifying product quality issues and driving improvements.
- Knowledge of or hands-on experience with test automation.
QA Management
- Experience managing a QA team or software development team.
- Experience evaluating, developing, and supporting the career growth of team members.
- Experience improving QA processes at the team or organizational level.
Product Development
- Experience working in QA within an agile development environment.
- Experience collaborating with engineers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to drive product development.
AI
- Strong interest in applying AI development tools and generative AI to software development and QA.
- Motivation to continuously improve QA and development productivity through AI. Communication
Ability to work effectively in Japanese.
- Comfortable communicating in English and able to proactively engage with English-speaking team members. Fluency is not required; we value a proactive attitude toward building relationships and getting work done in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building a QA organization or leading organizational transformation.
- Experience leading QA across multiple products or development teams.
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating test automation.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with non-functional testing, such as performance and security testing.
- Experience defining, visualizing, and improving quality metrics.
- Experience communicating in English in a professional environment, including meetings, chat, and documentation.
- Experience in QA or management within a global development organization.
