Job Responsibilities:

General Job Duties:

• To meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar.
• To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions.

Specific Job Duties:

• To follow safety rules of Decostar and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace.
• To Understand the employee’s rights under the OSHA Act, EEOC, FLSA and do not allow for discrimination against any employee exercising their rights.
• Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to set good workplace standards and ensure all employees maintain those standards.
• To follow safety rules of Decostar and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace including: training of new employees, reporting unsafe acts or conditions and correcting or commending health and safety performance.
• Ensure that all accidents or injuries are reported immediately and actively participate in the accident investigation and completion of all open action items.
• Have knowledge of general workplace health and safety in regards to the general public and visitors to Decostar.
• Recommends and/or supports implementation of buying strategies that promote cost effective purchasing decisions, which supports increased speed to market requirements.
• Manage new supplier development to ensure tooling and equipment supply base can meet Decostar requirements.
• Manage sourcing process including preparation and issuance of Request for quotes relative to tooling, MRO, and equipment used in the Automotive Trim processes with pertinent specifications, vendor communications throughout duration of the quotes, negotiation of commercial, Terms & Conditions, tracking of RFQ progress, and preparation of Quotes summary/evaluation documents.
• Conduct in-depth supplier pricing analysis to ensure competitive pricing is being achieved.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of new tooling and equipment standards and procedures.
• Establish, manage, and evaluate tooling, MRO, and equipment suppliers’ metrics.
• Ensure that all purchasing activities are managed within budget, maintaining the highest level of ethics.
• Manage commercial correspondence related to tooling, MRO, and equipment suppliers’ contract/ purchase order.
• Identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Develop measurements for quality improvements and target settings
• Develop strategic plans and objectives (short and long-term)
• Work strategically with other departments and personnel on current and future business maximization
• Develop coordination opportunities with Europe and Asia for tooling and equipment standards / sourcing Global platforms.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Must have a minimum of 3 years buying experience in an automotive environment
• Requires experience in diversified procurement and negotiation skills associated with various components and materials
• Fluency in English mandatory, ability to speak German, Japanese or Korean is a plus.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, as required accomplishing the job.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experienced in automotive tooling, equipment, and MRO purchasing practices and processes.
• Experienced in automotive tooling and equipment design and engineering.

Education:

• A Bachelor’s Degree is required. An Associate’s Degree along with diversified procurement and negotiation experience will be accepted in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Requirements:

• This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while standing or walking for up to eight (8) hours a day, the ability to perform work while sitting for up to eight (8) hours a day and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds on an infrequent basis. Good vision at a close distance is required. Must be capable of performing repetitive motion at, above and below shoulder height for up to six (6) hours a day.

Training Requirements:

• You will receive training to perform your job on an on-going basis concurrent with Decostar business operations. Training areas will include safety, quality, continuous improvement and other job specific training that is determined to be an essential part of your job and Decostar business operations.
