Group Summary:

The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB:

- Immediate open position

- $70,000 - $85,000 annual compensation

- Completion of a college diploma or university degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Management, Commerce, or a related field.

- Minimum three years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

- PMAC (Purchasing Management Association of Canada) enrolment is an asset

- Knowledge of MRP software is an asset

- Excellent communication skills (English - spoken and written)

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is required

- Computer proficiency to include experience with Microsoft, Project, Excel, Word, etc.

- Self-motivated individual able to work with minimal supervision

- Must demonstrate strong organizational skills

- Willingness and availability to travel as required

MAIN DUTIES:

- Supplier selection and new and/or Engineering Change Notice (ECN) part sourcing per PFC-03 with the goal of sourcing the best value for goods and/or services required within program requirements

- Support Supplier Performance Monitoring and escalation of chronic supplier issues per 6-1-0008

- Plan and achieve supplier cost improvement targets to support operational objectives

- Coordinate supply activities through Trax/ChangeX while supporting launch activities. Including attending all CFT meetings as required

- Analyze and present data to support business decisions and market test/resourcing initiatives

- Develop and manage specific commodity strategies to support Polycon cost, quality and delivery objectives

- Negotiate and issue purchase orders including blanket purchase orders with suppliers for purchased part requirements

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers including travelling to suppliers as required.

- Coordinate all supplier activity from initial sourcing through end of service order production Item master maintenance of all parts within the Buyer’s commodity assignment

- Month end reporting for cost savings, supplier performance and other items as required for internal customers and/or Magna stakeholders

- Other duties as required
