Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for two Customer Application Engineers for our customer locations in Wolfsburg and Sindelfingen.

As a Customer Application Engineer (m/f/d), you will serve as the technical interface between our customers and internal engineering teams. You will represent Magna Mechatronics’ engineering expertise at customer locations and support innovative product developments from the concept phase through series production launch. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams as well as our customers’ engineering, quality, and purchasing organizations.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and consultation to customers throughout the entire product development process
• Maintain a daily presence at the customer site (Wolfsburg/Sindelfingen) while traveling regularly to additional customer, supplier, and Magna locations
• Coordinate customer requests related to development, testing, and approval activities
• Support technical presentations and customer workshops
• Participate in project reviews and approval meetings throughout all development phases
• Monitor development progress and ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables
• Manage and track open issues, including escalation management for critical topics
• Develop technical concepts and engineering proposals for customer applications
• Analyze and evaluate customer requirements, including the review of technical specifications
• Ensure alignment between customer requirements and product specifications
• Support the successful launch of new products into series production
• Manage engineering changes throughout the entire product lifecycle
• Prepare and maintain complete and accurate project documentation

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline
• Several years of experience in product development or technical customer support, ideally within the automotive industry
• Strong understanding of mechanical and mechatronic systems and their interactions
• Excellent communication skills with experience leading technical discussions and negotiations
• Strong customer focus and confidence in customer-facing technical environments
• Analytical mindset combined with a structured and solution-oriented approach
• Innovative thinking and enthusiasm for new technologies
• High level of initiative and ability to work independently
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
• Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
