Job Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager this position is responsible for the overall maintenance of plant equipment ensuring the smooth running of the plant and limit impact on customer demand. The engineer should engage daily in design meetings to promote a continuous improvement in machine availability.
Role Responsibilities:
- To ensure equipment availability is in line with departmental targets
- To engage in Root cause analysis of repeat / major breakdowns and provide reports with suggested improvements
- To engineer out previous issues following a continuous improvement mind-set & methodology
- To facilitate the PM schedules and make recommendations for improvement
- To support the internal customers with technical issues Inc. non-breakdown
- To ensure Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are followed during maintenance activities
- To maintain and improve the equipment so quality is built in
- Attend training when required and adhere to CCUK and Magna standards
- To apply 5S methodology in work area and wider factory
- To align to departmental and company goals
- To support management with ad-hoc projects as and when required
- Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant and adhere to all Health and Safety environmental requirements
Essential Experience
- Time served apprentice in Mechanical or electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum C & G craft qualification / NVQ level 3 qualification in related discipline or equivalent
- Willingness to multi- skill
- Experience working with ABB robots
- Experience in fault finding from electrical schematics
- Experience in fault finding from hydraulic & pneumatic schematics
- Good Microsoft package ( especially: word, excel)
- To be able to communicate technical issues to non-technical staff
- 5’s experience
Desirable Experience
- Qualification in both electrical & mechanical discipline
- Educated to HNC/HND in related discipline
- Experience within the Castings sector
- Health and Safety accreditation.
- Experience of Tier 1 Automotive supply

Work Environment
- Plant conditions necessitate exposure to heat, cold, dust, hot objects, and loud noises within our manufacturing environment. Full Health and Safety training and PPE provided for all conditions.
