Job Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and drive continuous improvement across the organization. The ideal candidate will lead teams, optimize processes, improve operational efficiency, and ensure company goals related to quality, safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction are achieved.

This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Program Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage assigned programs across the full product lifecycle, including quoting, program award, development, supplier selection, launch, series production, post-production performance, and lessons learned, in alignment with the Magna Electronics Delivery Process.
  • Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams to achieve program objectives related to timing, quality, cost, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor top-level program plans, including customer milestones, internal deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on assigned program, leading all program-related communications.
  • Build strong customer relationships and represent Magna Electronics with professionalism, accountability, and transparency.
  • Support customer acquisition activities for new programs, including preparation of quotations, business case reviews, and contract reviews for awarded business.
  • Participate in lessons-learned analyses for both awarded and lost business opportunities.
  • Deliver business results that meet or exceed Magna expectations for awarded programs, with clear accountability for timing, quality, and financial performance.
  • Regularly communicate program status, risks, and mitigation plans to internal teams and management.
  • Proactively manage risks, implement countermeasures, and escalate issues when required.
  • Ensure sufficient resources are planned and allocated to support quality, safety, and cybersecurity objectives.
  • Approve internal and customer program milestones.
  • Approve program development and production costs within defined limits.
  • Approve Engineering (E) and Manufacturing (M) gate reviews.
  • Communicate and negotiate cost, timing, and scope constraints with customers and suppliers in alignment with Sales and Purchasing.
  • Actively support and drive achievement of approved business case objectives.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Customer Performance Metrics are maintained and met.
  • Support, interpret, and enforce policies and work practices fairly and consistently.
  • Ensure safety and ergonomics is discussed in all work-team meetings.
  • Introduce and review the policies with work team.
  • Request appropriate training and equipment from Safety Department.
  • Ensure that unsafe conditions and actions in the work environment are corrected.
  • Participate in workplace safety inspections.
  • Manages financial aspects of operations and understands the effect on financial performance. Develops, reviews, and maintains budgets and expenses for materials, equipment, travel, etc., ensuring conformity to plan. Monitors and controls costs and promotes cost savings in support of goals and value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) efforts. Researches and recommends new processes, systems, policies, and procedures to pursue in the future.
  • Develops and manages cross-functional operations leadership teams to meet business objectives. Monitors productivity of groups and individuals recommend changes where desirable. Provides leadership and support to staff and assists in employees’ skill development and develops team-based organization focused on goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage team including; performance reviews/management, disciplinary action, attendance, career development, etc.
  • Support functions to PPAP, customer report card, PPM, PMP Performance (engineering changes, methods, processes, etc.), Customer Audits, and Warranty Measures.
  • Responsible for performance Metrics including Scrap, Schedule attainment, labor efficiency, OEE.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in program management, manufacturing, business or related field including five or more years manufacturing leadership experience; or equivalent. Possess high degree of knowledge in manufacturing, operations, project management, manufacturing engineering and quality.
  • Leadership skills to lead and manage operations toward long-term departmental and organizational goals.
  • Employee relationship and management skills to support, develop, and lead a successful operations team.
  • Strong communication skills to work with internal and external contacts at all levels within the organization, represent the company in a professional manner, and to sell concepts to customers.
  • Project and program management skills and proven financial capabilities to maintain quality, cost, and timing of programs.
