  • Maintain working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and other essential infrastructure, to support effective troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and timely repairs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify and assess HVAC, plumbing, and other building system issues, determining when repairs can be completed internally versus when specialized contractors are required.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, contractors, and specialized service providers to ensure prompt response times, reliable service, and timely resolution of facility issues.
  • Maintain a reliable network of qualified vendors capable of responding to urgent or emergency facility needs, including after-hours HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other specialized repairs.
  • Oversee additional facility-based departments as assigned.
  • Manage all facility work orders, ensuring issues are prioritized, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Conduct daily facility walkthroughs to proactively identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and potential equipment failures before they disrupt operations.
  • Ensure all required audits, inspections, and safety checks are completed and documented in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee vendors, contractors, and service providers, ensuring quality workmanship, cost-effectiveness, and minimal disruption to daily operations.
  • Monitor vendor performance, service agreements, response times, and completed work to ensure accountability and appropriate use of organizational resources.
  • Ensure broken or unsafe items are repaired or replaced promptly to minimize operational disruptions and maintain a safe environment for clients and staff.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable safety, fire, health, and building regulations.
  • Hire, onboard, train, and supervise facility-related staff, including performance management and scheduling.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and systems to improve efficiency, extend the life of building equipment, reduce unexpected repairs, and support operational continuity.
  • Develop and implement systems to improve efficiency, safety, and operational flow within facilities.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of maintenance supplies, replacement parts, tools, and essential equipment to support timely repairs.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to support program needs and daily operations.
  • Maintain accurate records related to maintenance, inspections, building systems, equipment servicing, inventory, and vendor services.
  • Provide timely communication to facility leadership regarding significant maintenance concerns, repair timelines, safety risks, and anticipated operational disruptions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within the facilities and operations realm to support organizational needs, regulatory compliance, and continuity of care.

Minimum Qualifications

Education / Credentials

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical/trade certification in facilities maintenance, building trades, or related field preferred.
  • Relevant licenses or certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, or general maintenance) preferred.

Experience
