MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Manager to join our team at the government site at the Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC. This position is an onsite position.
The Data Manager designs, governs, and integrates enterprise semantic models (representing organization hierarchies, technical areas, vendors, platforms, systems, etc.) in coordination with Flankspeed application Developers (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Power BI) to drive unified data management and context-aware business solutions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Designing, governing, and integrating enterprise semantic models representing organizational hierarchies, technical areas, vendors, platforms, and systems.
Collaborating directly with Flankspeed application developers across Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Power BI environments.
Executing the initial setup of semantic models and relational databases on an expedited pace to support current SYSCOM schedules.
Writing and tuning complex Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), optimizing VertiPaq engine performance, and minimizing memory footprints in enterprise tabular models.
Managing version control and governance using modern formats like Tabular Model Definition Language (TMDL) within secure tenant limits.
Structuring semantic metadata cleanly to ground and support downstream AI assistants, natural language queries, and automated reporting.
Translating complex operational and administrative metrics into standardized, mathematically accurate semantic definitions and KPIs.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent education
7+ years of progressively responsible experience in data management, data architecture, or database administration.
Experience with or supporting enterprise data warehousing, relational database design, and schema modeling.
Experience writing and optimizing complex Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) and tuning query engine performance.
Hands-on experience working with Microsoft ecosystem tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, Power Apps, or Power Automate.
Demonstrated practical use of modern source control formats like Tabular Model Definition Language (TMDL) and deployment pipelines.
Past experience translating ambiguous operational metrics into standardized semantic definitions and mathematically accurate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure Analysis Services semantic structures.
Understanding of Department of the Navy (DON) Impact Level 5 (IL5) and IL6 data security constraints, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) guidelines, and Zero Trust data protection principles.
Capacity to bridge the gap between tactical/business stakeholders, database engineers, and platform security officers.
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active or current Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
The projected compensation range for this position is $104,200.00-$172,900.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
