Manulife is a Canadian insurance and asset management group founded in Toronto in 1887, with the first Canadian prime minister as its founding president. It sells life and health insurance, annuities and retirement products in Canada, the United States under the John Hancock brand and across a dozen Asian markets, and runs Manulife Investment Management as a global asset manager for institutional and retail clients. Headquartered in Toronto and listed in Toronto, New York and Hong Kong, it earns a growing share of its profit in Asia and has been reducing its exposure to legacy long-term care liabilities through reinsurance transactions.

Join our Asset Management distribution team and help drive the growth of our retail distribution business across private banks and retail banking partners. In this role, you will develop new distribution relationships, deepen existing strategic partnerships, and influence product adoption across a broad range of investment solutions. You will work closely with local and regional stakeholders to deliver sales growth, increase assets under management, and expand market share. This role provides significant exposure to investment products, distribution strategy, and senior stakeholder management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Drive gross sales and net sales performance against annual targets.

  • Acquire new retail and private bank distribution partners.

  • Increase share of wallet within existing distributor relationships.

  • Manage the end-to-end product onboarding and sales process.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers within distribution networks.

  • Deliver product presentations and investment updates.

  • Support distributors through training, education, and sales enablement.

  • Partner with regional and local stakeholders on business initiatives.

  • Build, manage, and report on sales pipeline activity.

  • Monitor market trends and provide feedback on investor demand and product opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in asset management, wealth management, banking, financial services, relationship management, sales, business development, or a related field would be advantageous.

  • Fresh graduates with a strong interest in investments, financial markets, relationship management, and business development are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated with a growth mindset and eagerness to learn.

  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, regulatory frameworks governing investment distribution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience covering private banks, retail banks, wealth management firms, or other financial distribution channels.

  • Knowledge of equities, fixed income, multi-asset, and solutions products.

  • Experience managing intermediary relationships or supporting distribution activities.

  • Experience working toward sales, business development, fundraising, or client acquisition objectives.

  • CFA, CAIA, CISI, IBF, CMFAS, or equivalent investment qualifications, or progress toward obtaining such qualifications.

  • Product development or product strategy exposure.

  • Experience launching new funds onto distributor platforms.

  • Strong understanding of Asian retail fund distribution markets.

  • Experience operating within multinational matrix organizations.
