Business Development Manager

Summary:

As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will play a key role in driving the growth of Manulife Wealth & Asset Management across your region. You will build meaningful relationships with financial advisors, understand their business objectives, and deliver tailored investment and business-building solutions that help them grow and succeed.

Leveraging Manulife's broad suite of investment solutions, portfolio management expertise, and sales and practice management resources, you will serve as a trusted business partner to advisors. Working as part of a collaborative territory team that includes an External Wholesaler and Territory Coordinator, you will be accountable for expanding advisor engagement, increasing sales, and growing market share within your assigned region.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a business plan to drive sales growth within your territory.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with financial advisors, dealer head offices, and key industry partners.

• Identify new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and advisor engagement.

• Position Manulife's full suite of investment solutions, including mutual funds, ETFs, separately managed accounts, alternative investments, and model portfolio solutions.

• Deliver impactful presentations, workshops, and practice management discussions both virtually and in person.

• Collaborate with internal partners to provide advisors with timely market insights, portfolio expertise, and business development ideas.

• Leverage technology and data insights to improve advisor engagement, efficiency, and sales effectiveness.

• Stay informed on industry trends, competitive developments, and evolving advisor needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education or equivalent industry experience.

• Proven success in sales, business development, or relationship management.

• Knowledge of investment products, including mutual funds, ETFs, alternative investments, and managed solutions.

• Understanding of advisor practice management and the financial advisor landscape.

• Strong presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience within financial services, wealth management, or asset management.

• Industry designations or coursework such as CSC, IFIC, CFP, CIM, or progress toward completion.
