Manulife is a Canadian insurance and asset management group founded in Toronto in 1887, with the first Canadian prime minister as its founding president. It sells life and health insurance, annuities and retirement products in Canada, the United States under the John Hancock brand and across a dozen Asian markets, and runs Manulife Investment Management as a global asset manager for institutional and retail clients. Headquartered in Toronto and listed in Toronto, New York and Hong Kong, it earns a growing share of its profit in Asia and has been reducing its exposure to legacy long-term care liabilities through reinsurance transactions.

The Client Portfolio Manager serves as the primary bridge between the Investment and Distribution teams, translating complex portfolio strategies, market developments and investment outcomes into clear, compelling messages for clients, consultants and prospects. The role will work closely with Portfolio Managers and Global Distribution to support fundraising, client retention and strategic business development initiatives globally.

The employee will be contracted with CQS (UK) LLP. However, the role requires the individual to work across the CQS and Manulife Group on a global basis.

3. Business Development Support

  • Partner with the sales team to identify and engage new prospects, with a focus on North American institutional growth.
