Manulife is a Canadian insurance and asset management group founded in Toronto in 1887, with the first Canadian prime minister as its founding president. It sells life and health insurance, annuities and retirement products in Canada, the United States under the John Hancock brand and across a dozen Asian markets, and runs Manulife Investment Management as a global asset manager for institutional and retail clients. Headquartered in Toronto and listed in Toronto, New York and Hong Kong, it earns a growing share of its profit in Asia and has been reducing its exposure to legacy long-term care liabilities through reinsurance transactions.

Client Engagement & Portfolio Expertise

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ETF and model portfolio solutions, including portfolio construction, implementation, and positioning

  • Help advisors integrate ETFs and model portfolios into client portfolios, including asset allocation, blending, and use-case discussions

  • Deliver timely market insights, product updates, and practice management ideas to support advisor growth

Internal Partnership & Enablement

  • Partner closely with Business Consultants to drive coordinated territory coverage and sales outcomes

  • Deliver training and ongoing education to internal teams on ETF and model portfolio capabilities and positioning

  • Provide field feedback to product, marketing, and investment teams to enhance product development and go-to-market strategy

Data-Driven Execution

  • Utilize CRM and analytics tools to manage sales pipeline, prioritize opportunities, and measure effectiveness

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including AUM growth, advisor penetration, and activity metrics

  • Leverage digital tools and virtual engagement strategies to increase scale and efficiency

Market Presence

  • Represent John Hancock Investment Management at conferences, client events, and training sessions

  • Maintain a consistent and credible presence in the ETF and model portfolio marketplace

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

  • Minimum 3-5 years of asset management wholesaling or related distribution experience

  • Series 7 and 66 (or 63/65) required

  • CFA or CIMA designation preferred

  • Strong understanding of ETF structure, trading dynamics, and portfolio applications preferred

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (in-person and virtual)

  • Proven ability to manage a territory, prioritize effectively, and drive business results

  • Proficiency with CRM and sales enablement tools (e.g., Salesforce) preferred
