This position is responsible for designing new products, sustaining and enhancing existing product lines, and supporting continuous engineering improvements for TWG.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Product Design & Development: Design mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic systems and components-including winches, winch accessories, truck-mounted equipment, gearboxes, castings, fabrications, clutches, and brakes.
- CAD & Documentation: Create and modify 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, and accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs). Review or approve drawings and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) as authorized by engineering leadership.
- Engineering Analysis: Perform structural, mechanical, and load calculations (tension, compression, bending forces, horsepower, and operating stresses) to determine optimal geometric shapes, material selection, and machine safety factors.
- Testing & Validation: Direct and execute test engineering procedures to validate new designs. Compile and analyze test data regarding temperature, pressure, speed, flow, and structural loads to confirm performance and reliability.
- Compliance & Standards: Review product designs for strict compliance with engineering principles, company guidelines, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Quality & ISO Compliance: Exercise authority within established ISO management systems to identify quality issues, initiate root-cause corrective actions, halt non-conforming processing when necessary, and support environmental safety and pollution prevention standards.
- Perform other related duties and engineering projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 3+ years related successful experience; or combination of education and experience.
- Intermediate experience with Mechanical systems and elements, Design analysis of systems and components, 3-D CAD systems and drawings procedures, Integrating electronics and software with mechanical elements, Design of experiments.
- Must be able to travel as required and /or directed.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of mobile equipment, cranes, winches, hoists, and geared machinery.
- Hydraulics system design and project management experience.
- Experience integrating electronics and software with mechanical elements
- Design of experiments.
- Familiarity with thermodynamics.
