VCA Mission Animal Hospital is an AAHA-accredited general practice seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital team.
Salary: $ 18 - $ 22 / hour
Location: 25 W Mission Rd, Alhambra, CA 91801
Schedule: Full-time; the hospital is open Monday-Friday 7 am - 7 pm, Saturday 8 am - 4 pm, and Sunday, 2 hours for boarding
We are a 3-doctor practice open Monday-Friday 7:00 am-7:00 pm and Saturdays 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

You have worked hard for your credentials, and we want you to use the knowledge that you have invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:
- Providing compassionate and skilled nursing care to critically ill and injured animals
- Assisting the veterinarian and technician staff with medical procedures, including triage, diagnostics, and treatments
- Monitoring patients’ vital signs and responding promptly to changes in condition
- Catheter placement
- Venipuncture
- Radiology
- Patient recovery
- Client Communication: loading exam rooms, presenting estimates
- Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with hospital protocols
- Collaborating with other members of the veterinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients
Qualifications:
- Must have documented previous Animal Hospital experience
- Hold a current California RVT license
- Flexibility in hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Customer service skills, including Phone skills
- Working knowledge of computers
- Excellent communication skills
