Marsh

Description:

EAR Broker / Client Executive

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Construction team at Marsh Risk. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer with a passion for sustainability and a customer-focused attitude to join Marsh’s Construction, Infrastructure and Surety Practice in London. This is an opportunity to work with sophisticated clients across the onshore energy, construction, oil and gas sectors and help them understand, manage and transfer complex risks. The successful candidate will bring strong insurance-market experience and the confidence to adapt to different work cultures, client requirements and technical challenges.

We will count on you to:

  • Lead and support the placement and servicing of onshore energy and construction insurance programs, with a focus on complex oil and gas risks.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders, acting as a credible technical and commercial adviser.
  • Translate engineering and operational exposures into clear risk insights, insurance strategies and practical recommendations.
  • Partner with colleagues across energy, construction, infrastructure and surety to deliver coordinated solutions for clients.
  • Contribute to market engagement, client presentations, tenders and business development activity.
  • Stay informed on sustainability, energy-transition and emerging-risk developments and apply that insight to client work.
  • Coach and support colleagues, sharing technical expertise and helping to strengthen our energy and construction capabilities.

What you need to have:

  • A degree or professional qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge and experience in insurance construction and energy risks, oil and gas, or a closely related insurance-market role.
  • We welcome applications from experienced insurance professionals as our first priority but we are also interested in hearing from strong oil and gas risk engineers who are looking to move into, or deepen their experience in, the insurance market.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and client-service skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.

What makes you stand out?

  • Experience in construction, energy or oil and gas teams at another broker, insurer or competitor.
  • Previous experience as a risk engineer in the oil and gas sector, particularly where combined with insurance-market knowledge.
  • A determined, resourceful and avidly curious approach, with the adaptability to work effectively across different cultures and client requirements.
  • Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII) qualification, or equivalent progress toward a recognised insurance qualification.

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
