As the Worldwide Test Hardware Engineering leader within the Operations Engineering business group, you will oversee the development, delivery and validation of all aspects of test hardware that is used in the testing of the silicon semiconductor chips that Marvell produces for both internal and external customers. The leader will drive the team in partnering with our suppliers and internal design teams to insure that we deliver first time rate production worthy designs in NPI and then ramp and support through Manufacturing.

What You Can Expect

This is the development and execution lead for all worldwide test hardware engineering - covering ATE load boards, probe cards, sockets, and change kits across NPI and production. The position is a Senior Director and reports into the AVP of Test & Hardware Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the Hardware engineering function as a unified global team with single ownership of development, ordering, repair, and capacity ramps worldwide
• Drive transformation to develop an engineering first world class organization
• Partner with PTE and Supply Chain to ensure hardware availability across production and development requirements
• Lead test engineering strategy, equipment/vendor selection, and manage test hardware suppliers
• Drive loadboard design strategy including schematic, layout, SI/PI, and simulation capabilities
• Manage NPI and production hardware programs across probe cards, sockets, loadboards, and handler change kits
• Build and lead a team of managers and engineers spanning SCL, SGP, TWN, and IRV sites
• Establish strong relationships with test hardware suppliers
• Own CAPEX/OPEX budget forecasting, department headcount planning, and recruiting
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Test Engineering, Product Engineering, Design Engineering and Supply Chain
• Communicate long-term strategic roadmaps to executive leadership in annual and 3-year plans
• Drive first-time-right mindset on new hardware designs

Critical Skills Identified in Your Documents

• Strong established relationships with test hardware suppliers (probe card, loadboard, socket vendors)
• Understanding of manufacturability and build technology/process for PCB, MLO, and probe heads
• Thermal and mechanical engineering oversight -knowledge and ability to design solutions for complex package designs.
• SI/PI knowledge for high-speed designs (Connectivity, Processor, ASIC, AI)
• Hardware software tools and simulation process/technology direction
• Supply chain interlock and budget forecasting experience
• New technology qualification leadership

What We're Looking For

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 8-10 years as a test/hardware engineer plus 6-8 years in a management role
• Proven track record leading teams through NPI and volume production in semiconductor industry
• Previous CAPEX/OPEX ownership and long-term roadmap definition experience
• Hands-on involvement in ATE hardware design processes (loadboards, probe cards, sockets)

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

200,250 - 300,000, $ per annum

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.

This role is eligible to participate in Marvell's bonus and equity plans, including a new hire equity grant and annual equity refreshers, ensuring you are rewarded for your contributions and remain invested in the company's long-term success.
