Title and Summary
Director, Business Development, Fintech, West AfricaAdditional Overview Bullets- Own the fintech portfolio P&L across the assigned West Africa markets, driving revenue growth, business performance, and profitability through strategic partnership development and commercialization initiatives.
- Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with fintech founders, CEOs, C-suite executives, investors, and key ecosystem stakeholders to shape joint growth agendas and strengthen Mastercard's strategic position.
- Lead the development and execution of market-level fintech strategies, ensuring alignment with regional priorities and long-term business objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior partner executives, identifying emerging opportunities, industry trends, and innovation initiatives that drive mutual value creation.
Additional Role Responsibilities
- Manage and grow the fintech business portfolio, with accountability for revenue, pipeline development, commercial performance, and strategic objectives.
- Build and execute account plans for key fintech partners, driving executive alignment, long-term growth strategies, and measurable business outcomes.
- Lead senior executive business reviews, governance forums, and strategic planning sessions with fintech partners to ensure alignment against shared priorities and growth targets.
- Champion cross-functional collaboration across Products, Services, Acceptance, Marketing, Franchise, Legal, Finance, and Regional teams to deliver integrated partner solutions.
- Develop and present strategic recommendations, market insights, and business performance updates to Mastercard and partner executive leadership teams.
All About You
- Proven track record of managing a business portfolio with direct accountability for revenue growth, commercial performance, and strategic objectives.
- Strong executive presence with demonstrated ability to build credibility and influence C-suite stakeholders, founders, and senior decision-makers.
- Experience developing and executing strategic account plans, partnership strategies, and executive engagement frameworks.
- Strong financial acumen, including P&L management, forecasting, business case development, pricing strategy, and ROI analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex negotiations and drive alignment across senior internal and external stakeholders.
